Started walking at 6:10 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:00 AM. Breakfast menu: Cereal, muffins, apples, and punch.
Plan for today:
- Stretch.
- Call Doris.
- Email daily diary for 7/31/2023.
- Walk 6 miles.
- Read.
- Yoga.
- Quotations.
- ACE Classes – Psychology 4:5 PM and Religious History 5-6 PM.
The morning walk is my favorite time of the day, so peaceful, the sun is rising over the horizon and the animals: squirrels, rabbits, and frogs are out in force today. Had to sew and hemp up some jumpers for the Main Penitentiary. It will take a few days. Broke a couple of needles while sewing the jumpers. Alternate between washing the laundry and sewing. Lunch was served at 10:30 AM. Luncheon menu: Chicken burger, vegetables, apple, and punch. Call Doris at 11:00 AM: told her my email was suspended for too many login attempts because the computer had a problem recognizing my fingerprint. I had my supervisor override my fingerprint instead I will use my password. I told Doris to check my Yahoo email for the credit card charges or go to my account to look up the monthly charges. She did not change my recurring payment amount and thus has been overpaying my credit card bills. She should edit the recurring amount to reflect the monthly billing. Finished inmates’ laundry duties at 1:00 PM. Counselor Mr. Reyes helps reset my email account. So my email account is up and running again. I had to hem and sew some Jumpsuits for inmates at the Penitentiary. 2 dozen of Jumpsuits. I had some problems, broke 2 needles, threads were breaking, threading the needle and the bobbins had some problems. I finally figured out how to sew without breaking the thread and needles but had to get more needles from Mr Z – my supervisor. Finished 16 jumpsuits, 8 more left for tomorrow. At 3:30 Census count. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: Rice, ground meat, green beans, and bread. AAPI had a turkey sandwich with Cheetos for its members. Showered at 4:00 PM. Washed my laundry at 4:15 PM. ACE classes – Psychology 4-4:30 PM, Religious History – 5-5:30 PM. Read in the library in between classes. Finished my laundry at 6:30 PM. Continue reading at the unit from 7:30 – 9:00 PM. Cleaned up at 8:00 PM. Census count at 8:40 PM. Census count at 9:00 PM. Final census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
Today was a very hectic but good day: Doris is well but I had to coach her about paying the credit card bills with my scheduled payment, she has to edit it to the correct amount, otherwise, she will be overpaying the bill. Walked 6 miles. Unfortunately, I could not practice my Yoga, but I did some Yoga stretches in the morning. Figured out the problems with the sewing machine and it is humming along. ACE Classes were very interesting and learned a lot about Confucius. Today is Chad Correa’s last day at the camp. He will be headed to the halfway house in San Francisco, Taylor Street Tomorrow. Best of luck to Chad. Chad has been a good mentor for me during my stay at Atwater Camp. He brought me into the AAPI group. He taught me about running the laundry and got me the laundry job.
