It is great to walk in the morning and watch the sun rise over the horizon. Walking is something that I enjoy and it makes me feel free even though I am being incarcerated. 9:00 AM emailed daily diary for 7/25/2023 to Prison Professor and Doris. 10:30 AM Lunch was served. Luncheon menu: Hamburger, Fries, and punch. All inmates’ laundry and mops for the front office janitorial services were completed at 1:00 PM. Called Doris at 1:20 PM: She just came back from surgery and her eyesight is a little foggy, she will have to have Lasik surgery annually to reduce the pressure. her post-surgery check-up in a couple of weeks. She was weak and shaking, probably due to low sugar, I recommended that she have something to eat. Showered and changed into casual clothes and went to the library to read from 1:30 – 3:00 PM. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: Pizza, spaghetti with marinara sauce, salad, and punch. ACE class – Warehouse Loading dock safety – 4-4:30 PM. Read at the library from 4:30 – 6:00 PM. 6:10 – 7:10 PM went to Hemp some pants. Jon sewed and hemp up a new pair of pants for me. Thanks, Jon for the new pair of pants. 7:40 PM Census Count. 8:10 PM Census Count. Final census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
Today was a good day: Walked 6 Miles, watched the sun rise over the horizon, and dodged the rabbits, squirrels, and frogs, I felt like a free man during my morning walk, even though I am incarcerated. Doris had her Lasik surgery, hopefully, it will improve her eyesight. New ACE class – Warehouse safety. Hemmed and sewed some of my personal pants. Washed lots of laundries, it is a tedious job and most of the inmates will not take this job, they rather watch tv and do nothing.
