7/23/2024 Tuesday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:30 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature is 108 degrees F. Started walking at 5:50 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:30 AM. Breakfast menu: Cereal, cake, banana, milk, sugar and water ( Cereal, torta, platano, leche, ezucar and agua).

The morning started out bright, hazy, calm and warm. The lower atmosphere was hazy with plumes of dark smoke in the Eastern, Southern and Western horizons. The full mon was in the mid sky and moving westward and eventually was not visible in the West. As the sun rise over the Sierras, the beautiful dawn sky was on display with analogous colors radiating out from the suns path: red, orange, yellow, light green, light blue and blue sky. The haze mad the sun reddish orange and colored the atmosphere. The rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields while Labrona and family were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. The squirrels appeared after breakfast and were scurrying around begging for food from the inmates. The provided us with a packaged lunch which consisted of: bread, salami, cookie and an apple. Walked 5 miles, jogged and sprinted the final mile. Completed 6 miles walk at 7:40 AM, in 1 hour 13 minutes and 30 seconds. Average walking times were: 12 minutes and 15 seconds per mile or 2 minutes and 3 seconds per lap. Th pace was fast. Stretched until 8:00 AM. We had an unexpected count at 8:00 AM. Cleaned the computer room at 8:30 AM. Checked email from Doris: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8335 steps, 16.5 inches step length and symmetry was 72%. Yesterday was the 183rd consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. Her appointment with Dr Jasmine Lee went well as she has not had an asthma attack for over eight months. She will continue with the medication and take precaution when she is outside because of allergy season and wild fire. She has an appointment with Dr. Yang on Thursday to get her six months shot for her knee. She will be out in the backyard to: enjoy the nice weather, walk without her cast, let the dogs out and enjoy her tomato plants. Showered and changed to BOP uniform at 9:30 AM. Ate my bagged lunch at 10:20 AM. Talked to Doris at 10:40 AM: Doris is well and rested. She was out in the backyard to: Enjoy the weather, walk without her cast, let the dogs out and enjoyed her tomato plants. She was pleased with the progress of her asthma treatment. She will have and appointment with Dr Yang on Thursday. She has her gift show on Saturday. I told her I will be busy with GED tutoring, ACE class and sewing. Also I will be busy with my book report and reading. Went to sewing room: exchanged 2 towels for Rodrigo Santos and hemmed 2 dozens pants. GED/ ESL Tutoring 12:00 – 2:30 PM. Good tutoring sessions. Went to sewing room to hem pants. Completed 8 dozens so far, 32 dozens left to go. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: hot link, spinach, rice, buns and water. ACE Class US History 1945 -1988, 6-6:30 PM. Census count at 7:00 PM. Census count at 8:00 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to be at 10:00 PM.
Today was a good day: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8335 Steps, 16.5 inches step length and symmetry was 72%. Yesterday was the 183rd consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. She had a good Asthma checkup and had no attack for 8 months. Walked 6 miles and stretched. Attended ACE Class. Good GED/ ESL tutoring. Hemmed 8 dozens pants so far. Had a surprised count this morning.
