The morning started out bright, some sparse clouds, slight breeze and warm. The dawn sky was on display with beautiful colors radiating out from the suns path: red, orange, yellow, light blue and blue sky. As the sun rise over the Sierras, the reddish orange sphere looked hazy with a halo, it brightened the sky and warmed the air. The lower atmosphere was hazy with streaks of black smoke. The rabbits were grazing on the baseball and soccer fields while Labrona and family were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. The squirrels appeared after breakfast, running around the camp, begging for food from the inmates. A group of squirrels were at the door to the dormitory begging for food from inmates. William Uribe turned on the sprinklers for the soccer field and the rabbits moved to graze on the baseball field. Walked 5 miles, jogged and sprinted the final mile. Completed 6miles walk at 7:35 AM, in 1 hour 10 minutes and 50 seconds. Average walking times were: 11 minutes 48 seconds per mile or 1 minute and 58 seconds per lap. The pace was fast as I was sweating and had to walk a few extra laps to catch my breath and to cool down. Stretched, split stretched and practiced Yoga at the basketball court until 8:45 AM. The Yoga practice was nice in the cool weather with slight breeze. I was able to exercise all phases: strength, flexibility, balance and breathing. Finished my Yoga practice with the corpse pose, visualized my trip to Reno on our way back from Salt Lake City. We saw the salt flats, the bone yard for planes and the great salt lake. Opened my eyes to the Blue sky with some clouds. Cleaned the computer room. Checked email from Doris: Doris is well but did not have a good rest. She walked 8333 steps, 16.3 inches step length and symmetry was 73%. Yesterday was the 175th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. Diana might comes by the house today. She will be out in the backyard to: enjoy the nice weather, walk without her cast, let the dogs out and admire her tomato plants. She read my book report ‘ Our Night Sky’. she liked it but it was too technical for her. Counselor Reyes informed me we will have two new self surrender inmates today. One of them is the Liao brother, the third one at Atwater camp. and another was an African American. He assigned them to bunk # 53 U and #48 U respectively. Showered and changed to BOP uniform at 9:30 AM. Lunch was served at 10:20 AM. Luncheon menu: shredded chicken burritos, black beans, rice, corn, an apple and water. Talked to Doris at 10:50 AM: Doris is well and she was with Diana. They are going to the Post office to mail some packages for Doris. Doris was out in the backyard earlier to: enjoy the nice weather, walk, let the dogs out and admire her tomato plants. I told her I will be busy with ACE and EBRR classes and GED/ ESL tutoring today. Attended EBRR class – Disability 12:00 – 1:00 PM. GED/ ESL tutoring 12:00 – 2:30 PM. Went to sewing room: altered 2 -2X shirts for Frank, prepared bus bags for new inmates and exchanged 1 towel and 3 wash cloths for Jorge. Th two new inmates came to camp at 2:30 PM. We processed them. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: Chili, cake, rice, corn, black beans and water. ACE Class Advanced Financial Planning 5-5:30 PM.
