7/11/2023 Tuesday Diary from Atwater camp
Woke up at 5:30 AM. Cleaned up, Made my bed, made a cup of coffee, and changed into BOP uniform. Stretched, drank my coffee, and watched the local news and weather channel, high today is 99 degrees F. Started the first load of wash at 5:35 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:00 AM.
Plan for today:
- Walk 6 miles.
- Pick up commissary items.
- Stretch.
- Call Doris.
- Read.
- ACE Class – Psychology at 4:00 PM.
- Email Daily Diary.
Camp Manager Mr. Echeveste drop by the laundry room for a surprise inspection, we were busy without washing already. He like how we set up the room and it was cleaned. He advised us that there will be an audit next week and to keep the room clean. Started walking at 7:15 – 7:30 AM, and only walked one mile. Picked up commissary items at 8:30 AM. Emailed 7/10/2023 daily diary to Prison Professor and Doris at 9:00 AM. Finished laundry at 10:00 AM, and started washing blankets and sheets. Talked to Doris at 10:15 AM: She had an asthma attack last night, but the nebulizer helped alleviate the symptoms. Her next appointment with Jasmine Lee was on 7/28/2023. Her appointment with DR Scott Lee is on 7/14/2023 at 10:30 AM, requested that I call her after 12:00 PM. Doris has been contacting nursing homes that might be looking for volunteers for delivery or other chores, especially the nursing home in Japan Town and in Concord. I told her that was a very good idea to look for support for my case. She also will contact other agencies in Vallejo and Pinole and the Art Guild.
Lunch was served at 10:30 AM. Luncheon menu: Hamburger, beans, pudding and punch. Wash a load of laundry for Armando at 11:00 AM. Started walking at 11:15 – 11:35 AM and walked another mile. Had to complete sewing the jumpsuits, and special rush orders. Blankets and sheets were done at 1:15 PM. Started sewing Jumpsuits at 1:20 -2:30 PM and from 4:00 – 6:00 PM. Started reading from 2:30 – 3:30 PM. Headcount at 3:35 PM. Lunch was served after that. Luncheon menu: hot sausage, mixed vegetables, and punch. ACE class – Psychology at 4:00 – 4;30 PM. Started reading from 4:30 – 7:00 PM. Went back to the unit, and had some ramen noodles, rice, and mackerel. Showered at 8:00 PM. Headcount at 8:30 PM. Final headcount at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
It is a good day: got lots of laundry and sewing done. Only walked two miles, the weather was too hot. Doris is well and had very good ideas to harness support for my volunteer services, at Japan town nursing home. concord and Pinole nursing homes.
