The morning started out bright, clear, breezy and warm. The lower atmosphere was hazy and plumes of dark smoke in the Southern and Western horizons. The sun was over the Sierras but was shielded by the haze and smoke. The rabbits were grazing by the soccer and baseball fields, while Labrona and family were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. William Uribe turned on the sprinklers on the soccer field and the rabbits moved to graze on the baseball field. The squirrels appeared after breakfast and were running around the camp begging for food from the inmates. Walked 3 miles on the trail and went to the training room to complete my workout. Completed 6 miles walk at 7:30 AM, in 1 hour 12 minutes and 12 seconds. Average walking times were: 12 minutes and 2 seconds per mile or 2 minutes and 1 second per lap. I was drenched as I was sprinting during the final mile and my blood pressure was up to 140 BPM. Went to the basketball court to stretch, split stretch and practiced Yoga until 8:40 AM. The Yoga practice felt good in the breeze but I had to maintain my balance against the breeze. I was able to exercise all phases: strength, balance, flexibility and breathing. Finished my Yoga practice with the corpse pose, visualized my trip to Horse-Show River Bend, hiked up to the River Bend, it was a spectacular sight as the Colorado River has carved the canyon. The canyon was a few hundred feet deep. Boats were on the river. Climbed on various huge rock structures by the horseshoe River Bend. Opened my eyes to the hazy blue sky. Felt refreshed after the Yoga session. Had some nuts, donuts and an apple for snacks. Cleaned the computer room. Checked email from Doris: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8597 steps, 16.1 inches step length and symmetry was 76%. Yesterday was the 170th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. She checked the BOP website but no update to my release date. She will be in the backyard to: enjoy the nice weather, walk, let the dogs out and enjoy her tomato plants. She is hoping Diana will go shopping with her today. Karlee sent me an email to inform me that the Book she sent me was missing. She will resend the book. Counselor Reyes informed me that we will have two new self surrender inmates today. Showered and changed to BOP uniform at 9:30 AM. Talked to Doris at 9:50 AM: Doris is well and rested. She was out in the backyard to: enjoy the nice weather, walk, let the dogs out and enjoy her tomato plants. No update on my release date yet. Joseph called Doris and told her that I should bring all my Book Reports, Class reports and journals to the half way house to show the new case manager what I have been doing while incarcerated. Bop and half way house communication link often breaks down. Joseph will make a note of my half way house date and report to Michael Santos (Prison Professor). Also Joseph said I should let the half way house know about Doris disabilities and hopefully they might release me to home confinement earlier. She is hoping Diana will come by the house so she could go shopping and mail her packages. Today was commissary day but I did not get anything. Lunch was served at 10:20 AM. Luncheon menu: hamburger, fries, an apple and water. Went to sewing room to prepare bus bags for new inmates. Had a short nap. Went to sewing room to alter sweat pants for Jorge. GED/ ESL tutoring from 12:00 – 2;30 PM. I had a medical call out for TB skin test, the results were negative. The lonely new self surrender inmate came to the camp at 2:00 PM. We processed him. Assigned Paul to bunk #77 L. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: spaghetti with Marinara sauce, pizza, salad and water. The temperature was extremely hot today, decided to stay indoors to read and write. Census count at 7:00 PM> Census count at 8:00 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
