7/7/2024 Sunday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:30 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched , drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 112 degrees F. Started walking at 6:00 AM. Breakfast was served 6:30 AM. Breakfast menu: Grits, cake, banana, milk, sugar and water (Semola de maiz, torta, platano, leche, ezucar y agua).

The morning started out bright, clear, calm and warm. The lower atmosphere was hazy and plumes of black smoke were visible in the Southern and Western sky. The sun was already over the Sierras. The rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields, while Labrona and family were grazing near the fence by the basketball court. The squirrels appeared just before breakfast and were waiting and begging for food from the inmates. Walked 2 miles on the trail and felt some throat irritations from the smoke. Completed my walk on the treadmill and elliptical machine in the training room. Completed six miles at 7:40 AM, in 1 hour 13 minutes and 30 seconds. Average walking times were: 12 minutes and 15 seconds per mile or 2 minutes and 2 seconds per lap. I was drenched from the workout. Stretched, split stretched, and practiced Yoga in the training room. The Yoga practiced felt good with the CNN news in the background. I was able to exercise all phases desired: strength, balance, flexibility an breathing. Finished my Yoga practice with the corpse pose and visualized my trip to Grand Canyon, hiked rim to rim, catching buses to different locale, enjoyed snacking and the ice cream, Opened my eyes to the ceiling of the training room. Attended ACE Class Advanced Spanish 8:30 – 9:30 AM. Theme for today was: sporting events/ Olympics – Eventos deportes / Olimpiadas. Lunch was served at 9:30 AM. Luncheon menu: scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes, pancake with syrup, an apple, milk and water. Talked to Doris at 9:50 AM. Doris is well and rested. She was outside the backyard to: enjoy the cool weather, walk, let the dogs out and admire her tomato plants. She told me the traffic home was bad yesterday because of the wild fire. The Bay Area temperature has cooled down compared to the 112 degrees F at Atwater. She enjoyed her visitation yesterday. I told her only 10 more visitations before my half way house exit. She hope for less before my exit date. Census count at 10:00 AM. Checked email form Doris: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8667 steps, 16.7 inches step length and symmetry was 86%. yesterday was the 167th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. Traffic home yesterday was bad because of wild fire. Francis cooked dinner last night. She will be out in the yard to: enjoy the nice weather, walk, let the dogs out and admire her tomato plants. Showered and changed to casual clothes at 10:40 AM. Had a short nap. Went to the library to work on my book report. Completed my book report #35 – My Favorite Universe. Census count at 7:00 PM. Census count at 8:00 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
Today was a good day: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8667 steps, 17.7 Inches step length and symmetry was 86%. Yesterday was the 167th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. Doris enjoyed the visitation yesterday. Walked 6 miles, split stretched and practiced Yoga. Attended ACE Class. Completed book report #35 My Favorite Universe.
