6/30/2024 Sunday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:30 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 103 degrees F. Started walking at 6:00 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:30 AM. Breakfast menu: Grits, cake, milk, sugar, apple and water (semola de maiz, torta, leche, ezucar, un manzana y agua).

  1. Stretch.
  2. Call Doris.
  3. Check email from Doris.
  4. Email daily diary for 6/29/2024.
  5. Walk 6 miles.
  6. Split Stretch.
  7. Yoga.
  8. Quotations.
  9. ACE Class Advanced Spanish 8:30 – 9:30 AM.

The morning started bright, clear, windy an warm. The sun was already over the Sierras. The lower atmosphere was hazy from the wild fire smoke. The rabbits were out grazing on the soccer and baseball fields while Labrona and family were grazing inside and outside the fence near the basketball court. The squirrels appeared after breakfast,running around the camp begging for food from the inmates. Walked the first 5 miles, jogged and sprinted the final mile. Completed 6 miles walk at 7:30 AM, in 1 hour 13 minutes and 23 seconds. Average walking times were:12 minutes and 14 seconds per mile or 2 minutes and 3 seconds per lap. The pace was fast as I have to walk a few extra laps to catch my breath and cool down. Stretched, split stretched and practiced Yoga at the basketball court in the morning sunshine until 8:25 AM. Th yoga practice was nice with the morning breeze but I had to struggle a little to maintain my balance. managed to exercise all phases: strength, flexibility, balance and breathing. Finished my Yoga practice with a corpse pose, visualizing my trip to Canyon Land national park in Utah. Driving through all the huge granite rock structures as supposed to looking at the structures from a distance. The smooth rocks were weathered by the glaciers in the past. Opened my eyes to the clear blue sky with the crescent moon in mid sky. Attended Advanced Spanish class from 8:30 – 9:30 AM. This is a conversational Spanish Class. The theme for today were: daily routines and Vacation terms. Talked to Doris after the class: Doris is well and rested. She was just about to go outside when I called. She planned to visit me next Saturday. I told her it will be hot on 7/4/2024. She asked if anyone is visiting me before. I told her no one is visiting me,, she will visit me on 7/6/2024. Diana was complaining that her tomato plants are dying. It i possibly due to lack of water or Gophers in her yard. She walked over 9000 steps yesterday. I told her I will have a relaxing day an work on my ACE Class reports and do some reading. Census count at 10:00 AM. Checked email form Doris at 10:05 AM: Doris is well and rested. She walked 9696 steps, 16.6 inches step length and symmetry was 75%. Yesterday was the 160th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. She will be in the backyard to: enjoy the nice weather, walk, let the dogs out and admire her tomato plants. Diana is busy with funeral arrangements thus will not be over. Diana’s tomato plants are not doing well and are dying. Lunch was served at 10:30 AM. Luncheon menu: scrambled eggs, biscuits with gravy, mashed potatoes, an apple and water. Showered and changed to casual clothes at 11:00 AM. Went to library to work on my ACE Class report Economic Theory. Completed my ACE Class report. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: roast beef,mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, bread and water. Census count at 7:30 PM. Census count at 8:30 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.

Today was a good day: Doris is well and rested. She walked 9696 steps, 16.6 inches step length and symmetry was 75%. Yesterday was the 160th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. Walked 6 miles, split stretched and practiced Yoga. Attended ACE Class. Completed ACE Class Report on Economic Theory.
