6/18/2024 Tuesday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:30 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 88 degrees F. Started walking at 6:00 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:20 AM. Breakfast menu: Oatmeal, cake, an apple, milk, sugar and water (Harina de avena, torta, un manzana, leche, ezucar y agua).

The morning started out bright, clear, calm and warm. the sun was already above the Sierras. The rabbits were grazing at the baseball and soccer fields, around the camp and Labrona was grazing outside the fence. The lower atmosphere was not as hazy. The squirrels appeared after breakfast and were running around the camp begging for food from the inmates. I had a medical call out for blood test from 6:30 – 7:00 AM. Finished walking 6 miles at 8:10 AM, in 1 hour 12 minutes and 36 seconds. The average walking times were: 12 minutes and 6 seconds per mile or 2 minutes and 1 second per lap. The pace was fast. Stretched and split stretched at the basketball court until 8:30 AM. Cleaned the computer room, Checked email from Doris: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8301 steps, 16.2 inches step length and symmetry was 78%. Yesterday was the 148th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. The contractor will be coming over to clean the backyard at 7:00 AM. Doris will be busy packing her merchandise for shipping. She asked about my blood pressure. I had a nutty bar, nuts and an apple for snacks. Secretary Mrs. Chaves informed me that we will not have any new inmates today. Showered and changed to BOP uniform at 9:20 AM. Lunch was served at 10:20 AM. Luncheon menu: Spaghetti with Marinara sauce, parmigiana chicken, spinach, bread and water. Talked to Doris at 10:40 AM: Doris is well and rested. The contractor was cleaning the backyard and the slopes. They have been working since 7:00 AM. She packed and shipped her merchandise with the postman. The dogs are well chasing after the squirrels and birds. the tomato plants are doing very well. Went to sewing room and hemmed 2 dozen pants. GED// ESL Tutoring 12:00 – 2:30 PM. Went to sewing room: sewed some cornhole pouches, sewed pillow for Jorge. Completed another six dozens today, total 12 dozens, 8 dozens left to complete. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: pull pork sandwich, spinach, mashed potatoes and water. ACE class US History 1945 – 1988, 6-6:30 PM. Census count at 7:30 PM. Census count at 8:30 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
Today was a good day: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8301 steps,, 16.2 inches step length and symmetry was 78%. Yesterday was the 148th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. She contracted out the backyard cleaning and it is working out very well. She shipped out all her merchandise to her customers. Walked 6 miles and split stretched. Attended ACE Class. Good GED/ ESL Tutoring sessions. Had my blood test today. Completed 6more dozens of pants, only 8 more dozens left. Submitted my EBRR Class Report for Money Smart for Older Adults to Prison Professor and to Doris.
