6/15/2024 Saturday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:30 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned dup, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 93 degrees F. Started walking at 6:00 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:30 AM. Breakfast menu: Oatmeal, cake, an apple, milk, sugar and water ( Harina de avena, torta, un manzana, leche, ezucar y agua).

The morning started out bright, clear, windy and cool. The sun was already over the Sierras. The rabbits were grazing at the baseball field but LaBrona and her family were grazing outside the fence. The squirrels appeared after breakfast and were running around the camp begging for food from the inmates. Walked 5 miles and jogger the final mile. Completed 6 miles walk at 7:30 AM, in 1 hour 10 minutes and 23 seconds. The average walking times were 11 minutes 50 seconds per mile or 1 minute and 58 seconds per lap. The pace was fast as I worked up a sweat and walked a few laps to catch my breath. It was a good morning walk. Stretched, split stretched and practiced my Yoga at the basketball court in the morning sunshine until 8:25 AM. Th yoga practice felt good. I was able to exercise all phases: strength, balance, flexibility and breathing. Finished my practice with a corpse pose and visualized the beautiful sunset over the Santa Lucia highlands an the beautiful dusk sky. Woke up to the beautiful blue sky. Attended Beginning Spanish from 8:30 – 9:30 AM. The theme for today was clothing terms. Talked to Doris at 9:30 AM. Doris is well and they are on their way. Their expected ETA was 11:00 AM. Checked email from Doris: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8729 steps, 16.3 inches step length and symmetry was 72%. Yesterday was the 145th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. She will visit me today. Karlee is still testing positive for Covid thus will not visit me today, maybe when she gets over the Covid issue. Census count at 10:00 AM. Lunch was served after the count. Luncheon menu: chili cheese , fries, mixed vegetables, an apple and water. Showered and changed to BOP uniform at 10:30 AM. Doris arrived at the visitation room at 11:10 AM: Doris is well and rested. Norma’s car had a flat and she had to call AAA to repair the flat. Doris’s eye was improving after the laser surgery. She will go back to the eye doctor for follow up on 7/2/2024. She contacted the DOJ but was still waiting to talk to Eric Chang. We might have to get Thomas Johnson to contact DOJ, if we do not have a response from Eric Chang. She liked my book report on scams against elderly adults. She could relate to some of the scams as it happened to her friends and also to her. She will have to be vigilante about emails, solicitations, text message, social medias requesting her personal information or PIN . I will write another class report pertaining to scams against elderly adults soon. The contractor will clean the backyard for $300 and also clean the gutters, seal the windows and repair the roof leak for another $300. They will do the work next week. Kein and Diana harvested a lot of apricots and tomatoes last week. She made a lot of merchandise for the Pinole Senior Center gift show, now she is pricing them. She has contacted: Pinole library,, El Cerrito Library, Solano county, Pinole Senior Center for my volunteer services. Karlee was still testing positive for Covid, and will visit me when she gets better. Doris had a long conversation with Siew Lan about the activities for the Yong Family. We had Dr Pepper, Potatoe Chips, Snickers, Milky Way and water for snacks. Doris left the visitation room at 2:45 PM. The CO for Visitation was Ms Ramos. We had a very good visitation. She will visit me again next Saturday. I had a short Nap. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: roast beef, mashed potatoes with gravy, mixed vegetables, bread and water. ACE Class Basic Understanding of Building Requirements 6-6:30 PM. Census count at 7:30 PM, Census count at 8:30 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
