6/8/2024 Saturday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:30 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up,, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 96 degrees F. Started walking at 5:50 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:30 AM. Breakfast menu: Oatmeal, cake, milk, sugar, an apple and water (Harina de avena, chocolate torta, leche, ezucar, un manzana y agua).

The morning started out bright, breezy, some sparse clouds and cool. the rabbits were grazing on the baseball and soccer fields, but Labrona and family were grazing outside the fence. As the sun rise over the Sierras, the golden sphere illuminated the sky, warmed the air and made the sky a darker shade of blue. Th lower atmosphere was hazy because of the smog. The squirrels appeared after breakfast running all over the camp begging for food. Walked 5 miles and jogged the final mile. Completed six miles walk at 7:30 AM, in 1 hour 13 minutes and 27 seconds. Average walking times were: 12 minutes and 15 seconds per mile or 2 minutes and 3 seconds per lap. The pace was fast and I worked up a sweat. I had to walk a few laps to cool down and catch my breath. Stretched , split stretched and practiced my Yoga in the basketball court in the sunshine until 8:30 AM. The Yoga practice was good as I was able to exercise every phase: strength, flexibility, balance and breathing. Attended Beginning Spanish at 8:30 – 9:30 AM. Talked to Doris before lunch: They are on their way in Concord, their ETA was 11:10 – 11:30 AM. Lunch was served after the class. Luncheon menu: Scrambled eggs, biscuits with gravy, fries, an apple and water. Census count at 10:00 AM. Showered and changed to BOP uniform at 10:20 AM. Had a short nap.

Ellos en Concord, ir a visitacion cuarto a las once y diez hasta once y media. Almuerzo esa servido despues me hablo con Doris. Almuerzo menu: Huevos revultos, bizcocho con salsa, papas frita. un manzana y agua. Contar censo a las diez, Ducharme, me pono uniforme BOP a las diez y veinte. Echarse una siesta).
Doris arrived at the visitation room at 11:15 AM: Doris is well an rested. We had Dr Pepper, Cheddar Cheese potato chips and Hershey chocolate for snacks. Unfortunately, most of the vending machines were not working. She fixed the water heater problem. She was not sure if Karlee will visit. She left the visitation room at 2:45 PM. It was a very good visitation. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Today was a good day: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8626 steps, 16.7 Inches step length and symmetry was 74%. Yesterday was the 138th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. Walked 6 miles, split stretched and practiced Yoga. Attended ACE Classes. Very Good visitation.
