5/20/2024 Monday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:30 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 83 degrees F. Started walking at 6:00 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:30 AM. Breakfast menu: Oatmeal, chocolate cake, apple and water (harina de avena, chocolate torta, manzana y agua).

The morning started out bright, clear, windy and cool. The dawn sky was son display with beautiful analogous colors radiating out from the suns path: red, orange, yellow, light blue and blue sky. the rabbits were grazing on the baseball field,, Labrona was grazing by the basketball court. Th lower atmosphere was hazy because of the smog. As the sun rise over the Sierras, it brightened the sky and warmed the air. The morning walk was pleasant. Completed walking 6 miles at 7:30 AM, in 1 hour 13 minutes and 24 seconds. Average walking times were:12 minutes 14 seconds per mile or 2 minutes and 3 seconds per lap. The pace was fast and i sweated. Th squirrels appeared and started running around the camp. Stretched and split stretched in the morning sunshine at the basketball court. brought some cleaned uniforms and blankets to the sewing room. EBRR class – Money Smart for Older adults 8-9 AM. Case manager Mr Larsen informed me that we will have 5 new inmates from the bus today. Prepared bus bags for new inmates. Showered and changed to BOP uniform at 9:30 AM. Checked email from Doris: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8521 steps, step length was 17.1 inches and symmetry was 79%. Yesterday was the 119th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. She will walk outside to enjoy: the nice weather, walking, playing with the dogs and look at her tomato plants. She will work on building up her inventory for her gift shows. Lunch was served at 10:20 AM. Luncheon menu: chili cheese fries, mixed vegetables, grapefruit and water. Talked to Doris at 10:40 AM: Doris is well and rested. She was outside enjoying: the nice weather, walking,letting the dogs out and looking at her tomato plants. EBRR class – Parenting 11-12:00 PM. GED/ ESL Tutoring 12:00 – 2:30 PM. ( Este manana es brilliante, vientoso, claro y fresco.
