4/22/2024 Monday Daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:30 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 85 degrees F. Started walking at 6:25 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:10 AM. Breakfast menu: Oatmeal, brownie, an apple and water.

Plan for Today:

  1. Stretch.
  2. Call Doris.
  3. Check email from Doris.
  4. Email daily diary for 4/21/2024.
  5. Walk 6 Miles.
  6. Split Stretch.
  7. Quotations.
  8. ACE Classes US History Native American 5-5:30 PM and Small Business Workshop 6-6:30 PM.
  9. FED/ ESL tutoring 12:00 – 2:30 PM.

The morning started out with the dawn sky (Alba cielo) already on full display, only a few alto cirrus clouds (el nubes), it was warm (hacer calor). The rabbits were grazing on the fields, Labrona was grazing by the basketball court. The beautiful analogous colors radiated out from the sun’s path: red, orange, yellow, gold, light blue, blue and dark blue sky. As the sun slowly emerged over the Sierras, the golden sphere brightened the sky and warmed the air. completed walking 6 miles at 8:00 AM, in 1 hour, 12 minutes and 12 seconds (uno hora, dose minutoes y dose segundos). The average walking times were 12 minutes and 2 seconds per mile( milla) or 49 seconds per lap (vuelta). The walk felt good in the morning sunshine. Stretched and split stretched at the basketball court until 8:20 AM. Cleaned the computer room. Checked email from Doris: Doris is well and rested. She walked 7593 steps, 16.5 inches step length and symmetry was 63%. Yesterday was the 91st consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. Her right knee was hurting but the analgesic helped her. Quang and Annie will bring Doris to visitation on 4/27/2024, that was a nice surprise. Diana might come by the house to spray the aphids. Doris will stay in the house to work on her inventory. I told her I will be busy with my ACE Classes, GED/ ESL tutoring and hemming pants. Went to sewing room: brought some cleaned uniforms and blankets, exchanged jackets for Brad and Albert, hemmed 3 pairs of pants from Brad, exchanged XL shirts for Albert, exchanged belt for Brad, cut 4 dozen pants and hemmed 2 dozens pants. Secretary Mrs Chaves informed me that the bus will not be here today, so no new inmates. Had a nutty bar, an apple and celery for snacks. Fed the apple core to Labrona. Showered and changed to BOP uniform. Lunch was served at 10:20 AM. Luncheon menu: burritos, Cole Slaw, Beans, an apple and water. Talked to Doris at 10:40 AM: Doris is well and rested. She walked outside to inspect her tomato plants and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Her knee was hurting and she applied analgesic to relieve it. Quang and Annie will bring Doris to visitation on 4/27/2024 Saturday. She was looking forward to the visitation. She asked how many pairs of pants Have I hemmed, I told her I cut 4 dozens and hemmed 2 dozens in about 1 1/2 hours. We will probably finished hemming the pants in a few days. She will work on new T shirt design today. GED/ ESL Tutoring 12:00 – 2:30 PM. The GED/ ESL tutoring went well. Hemmed two more dozens of pants, 4 dozens left to hem. Hemmed pants for Albert. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: Turkey, green beans, rice, bread and water.
