4/18/2024 Thursday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:10 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform, and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 82 degrees F. Started walking at 5:50 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:35 AM. Breakfast menu: cereal, muffin, an apple and water.

- Walk 6 miles.

- ACE Classes – Dark Matter, Dark Energy 5-6 PM (Hosting) and Culinary Class 6-6:30 PM.
- GED/ ESL tutoring 12:00 – 2:30 PM.
The morning started out dark but cool. The dawn sky quickly emerged, there were hardly any clouds in the sky but some fog and moving in. The dawn sky with analogous colors radiating out of the sun’s path: brown, red, orange, yellow, white, light blue, blue and dark blue sky. The morning walk was pleasant. The rabbits were grazing on the baseball field by the west fence. Labrona came by the basketball court for about 20 minutes then headed back to the baseball field and was joined by her juvenile rabbits. As the sun emerged over the Sierras, the golden sphere was bright and lit up the sky and warmed the air. Completed walking 6 miles at 7:20 AM, in 1 hour 14 minutes and 6 seconds. Average walking times were: 12 Minutes 12 seconds per mile or 2 minutes and 4 seconds per lap (vuelta). Thick dense fog rolled into the camp. Stretched and split stretched at the basketball court until 8:00 AM. Had celery, nutty bar, an apple and crackers for snacks. Fed the apple core to Labrona. Cleaned the computer room. Checked email from Doris: Doris is well and rested. She walked 7723 steps, 18.1 inches step length and symmetry was 78%. Yesterday was her 87th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. The cleaners are cleaning the house today. She will go shopping with Diana and maybe lunch too. I urged her to walk outside to enjoy the good weather and check on her tomato plants. I told her I will be busy hosting and attending ACE Classes, GED/ ESL Tutoring and hemming pants. Showered at 9:00 AM and changed to BOP uniform. Lunch was served at 10:30 AM. Luncheon menu: Baked chicken, mixed vegetables, sweet potatoes, bread, muffin and water. Talked to Doris at 10:45 AM: Doris is well and rested. The cleaners are in the house doing their cleaning until 11:00 AM. Diana will be by after 11:00 AM and they will go shopping at Grocery Outlet. The 99 Cents store in Pinole was closed due to loss and theft. They might get some lunch after shopping. Christina, Diana’s daughter will pick them up at 8:00 AM on Saturday to visit me at Atwater, they will be here by 11:00 – 11:30 AM. I will call them for ETA. I urged her to walk outside to enjoy the weather and her tomato plants. I told her I had to break my ACE classes into two classes because we cannot use the chapel for training. Also our training CO will not allow more than 12 students in a class. GED/ ESL tutoring 12:00 – 2:30 PM. Went to sewing room and hemmed 4 more dozens pants. So far we completed 12 dozens pants, 8 more dozens to go. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: shredded beef, hot dog bun, green beans and water. ACE Class Dark Matter, Dark Energy 5-6 PM (Hosting) and Culinary Class 6-6:30 PM. Census count at 7:00 PM. Census count at 8:00 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
