4/15/2024 Monday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:30 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 68 degrees F. Started walking at 6:10 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:15 AM. Breakfast menu: Oatmeal, muffin, an apple and water.

The morning started out with the dawn sky already on full display, the analogous colors radiated out from the sun’s path: red, orange, yellow, cream, light blue, blue and dark blue sky. There were some sparse clouds in the mid sky, the temperature was warm. The rabbits were out grazing by the south end of the soccer and baseball field by the fence. As the morning progressed, the analogous colors turned to pastel colors, evidence of smog in the air. Labrona came by the basketball court and was later joined by her juvenile rabbits. As the sunrise, it brightened the sky and warmed the air. Completed walking 6 miles at 7:40 AM, in 1 hour 12 minutes and 36 seconds. Average walking times were: 12 minutes and 6 seconds per mile (milla) or 49 seconds per lap (vuelta). Stretched and split stretched at the basketball court in the sunshine until 8:00 AM. Labrona and her juvenile rabbits went back to the back of the baseball field. Attended FSA Class Money Smart for Elder Adults until 9:00 AM. Jon brought a ream of printer paper. I loaded the paper into the printer. Cleaned the computer room. Counselor Reyes informed me that there will be a new inmate joining us today. Showered and changed to BOP uniform at 9:40 AM. Checked email from Doris: Doris is well and she slept well last night. She reminded my that it was tax day April 15. She walked 7641 steps, 16.3 inches step length and symmetry was 88%. Yesterday was the 84th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. She enjoyed my ACE Class Report on History of Great Art, it reminded her of her college days. I urged her to go outside to enjoy the outdoors, if it is not too cold. Lunch was served at 10:20 AM. Luncheon menu: Chili fries, carrots, an apple and water. Talked to Doris at 10:40 AM: Doris is well and rested. It was cold in the Bay Area, she went out to look at the tomato plants, but decided to walk inside. She asked if I talked to case manager about the 2nd Chance Act, I told her I will talk to him later in the week. She asked if counselor Reyes has approved her new ID. I toll dyer I will check on it. She texted Thomas Johnson, he replied that it takes time to resolve this issue. I told her I will be busy with ACE Classes and GED/ ESL tutoring. We might have a new inmate joining us today. Brought some cleaned uniforms and blankets to sewing room. Prepared bus bag for new inmate. No open house to meet with Mr Larsen today. GED/ ESL Tutoring 12:00 – 2:30 PM. New inmate showed up at camp at 1:00 PM, we processed him. census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: pepper beef, rice, mixed vegetables, bread and water. ACE Class – US History Native American 5-5:30 PM and small business Workshop 6-6:30 PM. Census count at 7:00 PM. Census count at 8:00 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
