The morning started out dark, hazy, light fog, breezy and cold – 44 degrees F. The lower atmosphere was very hazy with plumes of white smoke, light fog with visibility of over 5 miles, the breeze made the temperature colder. The beautiful dawn sky was on display; red band of striated haze; analogous colors peeking over the Sierras: red, orange, yellow, light green, light blue, white and blue sky. As the sky brightened, the analogous colors turned to pastel colors. After breakfast, some birds were waiting for their food, inmates discarded their food on the ground and on the basketball court. The quantity of the birds has diminised. There were only about 30-40 birds, most of them have migrated North. As the sun rise over the Sierras; the big red sphere changed colors as it ascended through the haze: red, orange, yellow and bright yellow; the white haze and smoke were prominent and the sun was hazy until it cleared the haze. I walked the trails on the soccer and baseball fields. Completed walking 6 miles at 7:50 AM, in 1 hour 14 minutes and 36 seconds. Average walking times were: 12 minutes and 26 seconds per mile or 2 minutes and 5 seconds per lap. Stretched, split stretched and practiced yoga at the basketball court until 9:05AM. There were a few inmates on the trails and working out on the basketball court. The stretch and Yoga practice felt good after the cold morning walk. I was able to exercise all phases: strength, flexibility, balance and breathing. Finished my Yoga practice with the corpse pose and visualized the beautiful dawn sky and colorful dawn sun rise. Opened my eyes to the hazy blue sky. Talked to Doris at 9:05 AM: Doris is well and rested. The weather was nice in Pinole and the dogs are out in the back yard.
