3/29/2024 Friday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:30 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 62 degrees F. Started walking at 6:30 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:10 AM. Breakfast menu: Oatmeal, muffin, an apple and water.

Plan for Today:

  1. Stretch.
  2. Call Doris.
  3. Check email from Doris.
  4. Email daily diary for 3/28/2024.
  5. Walk 6 Miles.
  6. Split Stretch.
  7. Quotations.
  8. ACE Class Geography Mystic World.
  9. GED/ ESL Tutoring 12:00 – 2:30 PM.
  10. GED Examination.


The morning started out gray, overcast but cool, in the 50’s. The rabbits were out grazing on the field, Labrona was grazing by the basketball court near the softball field. As the sky grew brighter, it was gray clouds all over the sky and not a patch of blue sky, looks dreary. As the morning progressed, the rabbits left the field but Labrona was joined by her juvenile rabbits. Throngs of inmates were walking towards Unicor to work, another group of inmates clasping the Anger Management Book were headed to class and around 7:20 AM, Mrs Hubbard arrived at the parking lot and group of anxious GED Students paraded to the examination room. I wished them the best for the examination. It will be a long day for them as there are four components to the GED Examination: Mathematics, Science, Social Studies and Language Arts. It should take the entire day for all four components of the examination. Finished walking 6 miles at 8:10 AM, in 1 hour 13 minutes and 12 seconds. Average walking times were: 12 minutes 4 seconds per mile (milla) or 49 seconds per lap (vuelta). Stretched and split stretched at the basketball court until 8:30 AM. Went to sewing room to hem pants, completed 3 more dozens. Cleaned computer room at 9:20 AM. Checked email from Doris: Doris is well and rested. She walked 7881 steps, 15.3 Inches step length and symmetry was 85%. It was raining in the Bay Area since last night. She will stay indoors to do her walking and work on her inventory. She planned to visit on 4/6/2024. Washed my sheets and blankets at 9:30 AM. Showered at 9:35 AM and changed to BOP uniform. Lunch was served at 10:15 AM: Luncheon menu: fried fish sandwich, spinach, bread, Cole Slaw and water. Went to sewing room: exchanged 3X shirt and repair pants for Gilbert and hemmed pants. finished washing my sheets and blankets at 11:10 AM. Talked to Doris at 12:00 PM: Doris is well and rested. the weather in the Bay Area was drizzling, windy and cold. She got wet letting the dogs out. She walked 7881 steps, 15.3 inches step length an symmetry was 85%. Yesterday was the 67th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. Diana advised her not to leave dog food outside as the found some coyote puppies by her house and it was coyote mating season, so Doris has been taking in the food inside. She asked about the GED Examination, I told her it was a day long event as it is in four sections; Mathematics, Science, Social Studies and Language Arts. Some students said the Mathematics portion was easy. We will know the results in a couple of weeks. She planned on visiting on 4/6/2024 Saturday. I told her that it would be good to space her visitation every fortnight. She asked how my hemming project was coming along, I told her we already completed 10 dozens and we might finish hemming today. I told her I will be busy with my ACE Class today and hemming pants. I hope to catch up on my ACE Class Reports tomorrow. Went to sewing room to complete hemming pants for Penitentiary, 15 dozens. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: Lasagna, salad, garlic bread and water. It started to rain at 4:00 PM, it is suppose to rain all weekend. ACE Class Geography Mystic Land – Varanasi, India 5-5:30 PM. Census count at 7:30 PM. Census count at 8:30 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.

Today was a good day: Doris is well and rested. She walked 7881 steps, 15.3 Inches step length and symmetry was 85%. Yesterday was the 67th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. Walked 6 miles and split stretched. Attended ACE Class. Good GED examination, students were confident that they did well. Completed hemming 15 dozen pants for penitentiary.
