It rained last night but the rain stopped at 3:00 AM. The walking trail was flooded, the basketball court was wet but walkable. The morning started out dark, wet but cool, in the 50’s. Most of the clouds were East by the Sierras, some clouds were in the Northwest, the mid sky was clear. As the sky got lighter, I could see the dark clouds over the Sierras and deep blue sky. Labrona and her juvenile rabbits were grazing by the basketball court. As the morning progressed, the dark clouds turned to gray and the navy blue sky. As the morning progressed the path of the sun grew lighter and the sun ray radiated out from its path, the clouds were tinted with golden edges. As the sun emerged over the clouds, it brightened the sky and warmed the air. Finished walking 6 miles at 7:50 AM, in 1 hour 12 minutes and 36 seconds. Average walking times were: 12 minutes and 6 seconds per mile (milla) or 49 seconds per lap (vuelta). Attended Spanish Lessons from 8:00 – 9:00 AM. Stretched and split after the class. Called Doris: she is well and she was waiting for Norma to pick her up, Norma had to get some gas before picking her up. I will call later for ETA. Had some chips and apples for snacks. Fed the apple cores to Labrona. Lunch was served at 9:30 AM. Luncheon menu: Tacos, rice, beans, apple and water. Census count at 10:00 AM. Showered and changed to BOP uniform. Tried calling Doris at 10:40 AM but could not connect. Finally talked to Doris; They will be here at 11:35 AM. Doris arrived at the visitation room at 11:40 AM. Doris is well and she looked healthy. She was happy to be visiting today. We had Dr pepper, Cheddar Cheese chips, potatoes skin chips, Hershey chocolate and shortbread cookies. Doris has her new glasses on but it did not help her. She made an appointment with the optometrist to replace the glasses. She has an appointment with Dr Jasmine Lee as a follow-up for her Bronchitis infection. She also has a tax appointment with Sharma our Tax preparer for 2023 Taxes. Diana will bring her there and they will go shopping after that. Th dogs are well, as usual they are fighting over food. Playtoh and Bobo has lipoma – fat cells, but it did not bother them. Doris planted the tomatoes plant and she place the cone over it to brace it up. She found the cone in the storage shed. Diana and Doris brought the Mazda for smog and it passed and she paid for the registration. She felt more confident with her walking and it has helped her sleep. Also, Michael Santos published my Saturday dairy – Doris closed the ring for the 60th consecutive days. Michael has published a few of my diaries on Facebook. She has been walking in the house as the weather was bad outside and the dogs were watching her walk. I told her now is the time for her to work on her health and take care of herself and she should not rely on others but herself as we are empty nesters. I told her my most optimistic release date is before X’Mas 2024 to halfway house. I will know more after my unit team meeting in May 2024. Doris was invited to the Coca-Cola convention in Hong Kong but she declined the invitation. She intends to keep her biweekly schedule to visit me. Our visitation was cut short because of shortage of staff and visitation ended at 1:30 PM. Doris left the visitation room after 1:45 PM and it was raining heavily and the wind was blowing. I told her I will call her tonight. It was a good visitation albeit it was shortened by an hour. I had a short nap. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: Chef salad, soup, chips and water. ACE Classes – Neuroscience 1, 5-6 PM (Hosting) and US History 1604 – 1800 6-6:30 PM. Census count at 7:30 PM. Census count 8:30 PM.
