The morning started out dark, hazy, breezy and cold – 45 degrees F. Today was the first day of day light savings time, so a lot of the inmates slept in. The lower atmosphere was hazy, fog in a distance, light breeze made the temperature colder. The beautiful dawn sky was on display; band of red haze; analogous colors peeking over the Sierras: red, orange, yellow, light green, light blue and blue sky. The autonomous car company had their facility lights turned on. They tested their vehicles last night. Rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields, while Labrona and family were grazing by the fence near the soccer field. After breakfast , no wildlife appeared so the inmates left their food on the ground and on the basketball court. I walked the trails on the soccer and baseball fields. The birds appeared around 7:20 AM, they feasted on food left by inmates and foraged in the fields. As the sun rise it illuminated the Sierras giving it depth and created a picturesque scene; the big red sphere changed colors as it ascended through the haze: red, orange, yellow and bright yellow; it warmed the air. No inmates were on the trails until I completed my walk. Completed walking 6 miles at 8:00 AM, in 1 hour 14 minutes and 30 seconds. Average walking times were: 12 minutes and 25 seconds per mile or 2 minutes and 5 seconds per lap. Stretched, split stretched and practiced Yoga at the basketball court until 9:10 AM. The stretch and Yoga practice felt good after the cold morning walk. I was able to exercise all phases: strength, flexibility, balance and breathing. Finished my Yoga practice with the corpse pose and visualized the beautiful dawn sky and spectacular sun rise. Opened my eyes to the blue sky. There were a couple of visitors who came early this morning. Lunch was served at 9:30 AM. Luncheon menu: 2 fried eggs, fries, pancake with syrup and apple. We had to eat out lunch in the dormitory because the clogged pipe in the mass hall was not fixed. Census count at 10:00 AM. Showered and changed to casual clothes at 10:10 AM. Talked to Doris at 10:30 AM: Doris is well and rested. She was glad we had a very good visitation yesterday. She had dinner Nick at Buttercup, Oakland and they were stuck in traffic. Unfortunately, Monk Lin our Malaysian friend passed away this morning because of pancreatic cancer, she lead a fruitful life and may she rest in peace. GSW won their game against the Detroit Pistons last night, it was a good game. I will keep myself busy with some ACE Class reports. We had a really good Sushi roll party last night. Checked email from Doris at 11:30 AM: Doris is well and rested. She reminded me that today is daylights savings time. She walked 9547 steps, 17.2 inches step length and symmetry was 8.6%.
