2/27/2024 Tuesday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:30 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 60 degrees F. Started walking at 6:20 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:15 AM. Breakfast menu: Cereal, muffin, apple and water.

- GED/ ESL tutoring 12:00 – 2:30 PM.
The morning started out with the dawn sky already on display. Analogous colors ranging from brown, red, orange, yellow, green, light blue, blue and dark blue radiated out on the path of the sun. The big round moon was visible in the Western sky. As the morning progressed, the colors got brighter and lighter. The big red sphere emerged and it illuminated and brightened the sky. Lebron the rabbit was out on the basketball court. Finished walking 6 Miles on the walking trail at 8:00 AM, in 1 hour 12 minutes and 55 seconds. Average walking times were: 12 minutes and 10 seconds per mile (milla) or 2 minutes and 2 seconds per lap (vuelta). Stretched and split stretched at the basketball court in the morning sunshine until 8:30 AM. The computer room was closed because the CO found some contrabands in the room. So access to email will be curtailed until further notice. Secretary Mrs. Chaves told me there won’t be any new inmates joining us until 3/11/2024. Showered and changed to BOP uniform at 9:30 AM. Several special investigation units officers arrested Brian Henson for contraband. Talked to Doris at 10:00 AM. Doris is well and rested. They had an incident as a crazy man with a gun was on a rampage through Pinole. The police went door to door to make sure that residents locked their doors and windows. They cornered the suspect in an apartment at Richmond Parkway, The ordeal ended after a fifteen hours standoff. I told Doris that the CO found some contraband in the computer room and it will be closed until further notice. I will try to call twice a day since I have no access to email, also for her to update me on her closing the ring. I told her the COs arrested Brain Henson, probably for contraband. Lunch was served at 10:20 AM. Luncheon menu: chicken breast sandwich, beans, banana and water. Santos told me we will have three more GED students today. They came in yesterday. Exchanged jacket for Ruben Torres. Repaired some jackets. GED/ ESL Tutoring 12:00 – 2:30 PM. The GED/ ESL tutoring classes went well. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: Shredded beef with bell pepper, rice, mixed vegetables, bread and water. ACE Classes – Nutrition made Clear 5-6 PM (Hosting) and US History 1890 – 1923 6-6:30 PM. Census count at 7:30 PM. Census count at 8:30 PM. They cleaned and buffed the floor in the computer room, but locked it after cleaning. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
Today was a good day: Doris is well, so are the dogs. Doris closed the ring for the 36 consecutive days. She walked 7179 steps, step length was 14.9 Inches and symmetry was 87%. Walked 6 miles and split stretched. Attended and hosted ACE Classes. Good GED/ ESL tutoring classes.
