2/24/2024 Friday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:30 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 62 degrees F. Started walking at 6:10 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:30 AM. Breakfast menu: cereal, muffin, banana and water.

Plan for today:

  1. Stretch.
  2. Call Doris.
  3. Check email from Doris.
  4. Email daily diary for 4/22/2024.
  5. Walk 6 miles.
  6. Split Stretch.
  7. Quotations.
  8. ACE Classes Geography Mystic Land 5-5:30 PM and Introduction to will and trust 6:30 – 7:00 PM.
  9. GED / ESL tutoring 12:00 – 2:30 PM.

The morning started out dark, overcast but cool, in the high 40’s. As the morning got lighter, it was evident the sky was overcast with thick clouds, it was gray all over. The sun only lit up portions of the cloud on its path. The rabbits were grazing on the field but the same rabbit was hanging out by the basketball court. Completed walking 6 miles at 7:50 AM, in 1 hour 15 minutes and 44 seconds. Average walking times were: 12 minutes 38 seconds per mile (milla) or 51 seconds per lap (vuelta). Stretched and split stretched at the basketball court until 8:20 AM. Cleaned the computer room. Washed my sheets and blankets. Secretary Mrs. Chavez informed me that two new inmates will be joining us today and on Monday we will four more from the bus and three more self surrenders. I told her to call CO Zalenski or Turner for more mattresses. Had some crackers and bananas for snacks. Checked and replied to Doris’ email: Doris is well and she had a good night rest. She walked 6441 Steps, 14.8 Inches step length and symmetry was 85%. I congratulated her for closing the ring for the 32 nd consecutive days and she was confident that she will close it again tonight, as it is a routine for her. She still feels wobbly when she tries to walk a straight line. I told her to use her cane to brace herself if she need to. She was going to CVS to pick up her eye drops. I told her to charge it to my credit card. Showered and changed to BOP uniform. Finished my laundry: blankets and sheets. Talked to Doris at 10:00 AM: Doris is well and she had a good sleep and felt refreshed today. She will be going to CVS to pick up her prescription with Diana. I told her to charge it to my credit card. the dogs are well and they are lazing on the couch after chasing the squirrels. I congratulated her for walking 6441 steps, 14.8 Inches step length and symmetry of 85%. She felt confident with her walking and closing the ring as a daily routine. She is a little wobbly when she tries to walk in a straight line. I suggested that she use her quad cane to brace herself if needed. The cleaners are coming by to clean the house today. She enjoyed the GSW / Lakers game last night. She will watch the GSW /Hornets game tonight. I told her we will have two new inmates joining us today. She will be working on her sewing room on her apron designs. I will be attending ACE Classes, GED/ESL and Spanish lessons. She is looking forward to our visitation tomorrow. She will email me when she leaves the house and I will call her for ETA. Lunch was served at 10:15 AM. Luncheon menu: fried fish sandwich, beans, rice and water. The two new inmates arrived at the camp at 11:20 AM. WE processed them and welcomed them to the camp. GED/ ESL tutoring 12:00 – 2:30 PM. I worked with some students and some of them are starting to pick up and understand algebra. Mrs. Hubbard came by the camp to announce two more inmates passed their GED examinations. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: macaroni and cheese, salad, bread and water. ACE Classes Geography Mystic World 5-5:30 PM and Introduction to Wills and Trusts 6:30 – 7:00 PM. Census count at 7:30 PM. Census count at 8:30 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.

Today was a good day: Doris is well and had a good night sleep. She closed the ring for the 32 nd consecutive days. Two more inmates passed their GED/ESL examinations. Walked 6 miles and split stretched. The dogs are well. Attended ACE Classes. Good GED/ESL Tutoring classes.
