2/16/2024 Friday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:30 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 61 Degrees F. Started walking at 6:15 AM. Breakfast was served at6:50 AM. Breakfast menu: Oatmeal, muffin, an apple and water.

- Walk 6 Miles.

- ACE Classes – Geography Benelux countries 5-5:30 PM and Will and Trust 6-6:30 PM.
- GED / ESL Tutoring 12:00 – 2:30 PM.
The morning started out dark, overcast but cool, in the 50’s. As the dawn sky emerged, it was overcast all over except for a slither of clearing over the Sierras. The clearing was reddish brown and the clouds were dark grey, as the morning progressed the clearing turned to reddish yellow and the underside of the clouds on the path of the sun was peach color. The colors of the clearing from red, to yellow, to gold and to sea foam green. As the sun emerged, the sun illuminate everything on its path turn everything to peach color and it gold ray radiated out form the sun. The Orange reddish sphere turned to gold as it ascended and was finally shielded by the high clouds. The clearing in the sky turn to sea foam green again. The same rabbit was hanging out by the basketball court. Completed walking 6 miles at 7:50 AM, in 1 hour 16 minutes and 23 seconds. Average walking times were: 12 minutes and 11 seconds per mile (milla) or 49 seconds per lap (Vuelta). Stretched and split stretched at the basketball court until 8:25 AM. Cleaned the computer room. Checked and replied to Doris’s email: Doris walked 6659 steps, step length was 14.7 Inches and symmetry was 82%. This is the 25 consecutive days she had closed the ring on her iPhone. That is over 150,000 steps she had walked and that is a low estimate based on daily average of 6000 steps. Walking 6000 steps per day is a new routine for her daily. She will watch the GSW and Utah game.
I had a nutty bar, an apple and crackers for snacks. Showered at 9:10 AM Abd changed to BOP uniform. Went to sewing room to hem pants. Secretary Mrs. Chavez informed me that there will not be any new inmates joining us until Tuesday 2/20/2024. Lunch was served at 10:15 AM. Luncheon menu: Fried fish filet sandwich, pasta, carrots, an apple and water. Talked to Doris at 10:30 AM: Doris is well and she was happy she walked 6659 steps with step length of 14.7 Inches and symmetry of 82%.She is getting stronger as she can complete the walk in one session instead of breaking it up. She will continue to keep her streak alive, she was working on her new designs for her Aprons. The weather was cold and foggy in the Bay Area. Doris brought out some blankets for the dogs on the couch. She saw Playtoh shivering, thus the blankets. She said Karlee and Chris will visit tomorrow. I will try to call them tomorrow to confirm their ETA. She reminded them to bring some dollar bills for the vending machines. But they prefer using their ATM cards instead for convenience. Doris is afraid to use her ATM card.
Went to sewing room to hem pants. GED / ESL tutoring 12:00 – 2:30 PM. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: spaghetti with marinara sauce, salad, bread, carrots and water. check email from Doris: She is well and asked about the 1098 form from the Federal Government. i told her I mailed it yesterday to her. She should file it with our 2023 taxes. Doris is planning on visitation on 2/24/2024, with Kain if he is available or by herself. She liked to visit me by herself as we have lots of fun. ACE Classes – Mystic Land – Peru 5-5:30 PM and Introduction to Wills and Trusts 6:30 – 7:00 PM. Census count at 7:10 PM. Census count at 8:00 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
Today was a good day: Doris is well and she closed the ring for the 25 consecutive days. Karlee and Chris will visit me tomorrow. Walked 6 Miles and split stretched. Attended ACE Classes. Good GED/ ESL tutoring classes.
