2/12/2024 Monday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:30 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 59 degrees F. Started walking at 6:15 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:20 AM. Breakfast menu: Oatmeal, Cinnamon roll, an apple and water.

The morning started out dark and cold, in the 30’s. the sky was clear except in the distant horizon over the Sierras was very dense fog. the Northern Star was visible and the Crescent moon was barely visible in the Western Sky. The rabbits were out grazing on the field and the same rabbit was hanging out by the basketball court. The dawn sky emerged, the sky was Blue, clear area over the Sierras was Reddish brown color, layered with the fog. As the morning progressed, the color grew brighter. The sun emerged as a big Red sphere as it ascended, it was shielded by the fog and I could only see a faint white sun amid the fog. The fog rolled into the camp and reduced the visibility to 0.25 Miles. Some GED students were taking their examinations at 7:30 AM. Finished walking at 8:00 AM, in 1 hour 17 minutes and 10 seconds. Average walking times were: 12 minutes and 10 seconds per mile (milla) or 49 seconds per lap (vuelta). Stretched an split stretched at the basketball court until 8:10 AM. Cleaned the computer room . Had a nutty bar and an apple for snacks. Showered and changed to BOP uniform. Lunch was served at 10:35 AM. Luncheon menu: shredded beef, green beans, an apple, bread and water. Went to sewing room to prepare Bus Bags for new inmates and hem some pants. Talked to Doris at 10:40 AM: Doris is well and she walked 6321 steps and closed the ring on her iPhone app. She has closed the ring for 21 consecutive days. I told her some students were having their GED examinations and another group were having the SABE examination. I will be teaching the GED/ ESL today and the ACE Real Estate class. She will be busy working on her new design and inventory. GED/ESL tutoring 12:00 – 2:30 PM. Went to sewing room to hem and repair uniforms. Exchanged shirt for Rickey. Exchanged pants for Richardo. Exchanged pants for Edward Millan. the three new inmates arrived at the camp at 3:20 PM. I told the CO to process them after the count and dinner. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: Turkey with gravy, green beans, bread and water. Processed the three new inmates after dinner. ACE Class Real Estate 6:30-7:00 PM. Checked email from Doris: she walked 6621 steps, step length was 15 inches and symmetry was 76 %. Census count at 7:20 PM. Census count at 8:30 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
Today was a good day: Doris is well. She closed the ring on her iPhone app for 21 consecutive days. Walked 6 miles and split stretched. Attended ACE Real Estate class. Good GED/ESL tutoring. Several students did well in the GED and SABE Examinations.
