2/5/2024 Monday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:40 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 63 degrees F. Started walking at 6:35 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:20 AM. Breakfast menu: Cereal, muffin, apple and water.

The power was restored at 6:00 AM. The morning started out dark, overcast, windy and cool, in the 50’s. The morning walk was refreshing after the rain. There were stratus cumulus clouds above the Sierras. The dawn sky emerged with bright red over the Sierras and shade of yellow tint in the underside of the clouds. As the morning progresses the red turn to orange, then yellow and to bright glittering gold. the underside of the cloud changed from brownish red to orange then to peach color. As the sun emerged its ray radiated out to illuminate clouds on it path. The sun was orange and glittering gold color because the rain and wind cleaned away the smog. the rabbits were out grazing on the field until the dawn sky emerged. The sunrise was shielded by the Stratus cloud as it ascended. Completed walking 6 miles at 8:00 AM, in 1 hour 13 minutes and 46 seconds. Average Walking times were:12 minutes and 10 seconds per mile (milla) or 49 seconds per lap (vuelta). Stretched at the basketball court until 8:30 AM. Cleaned the computer room. had a muffin, celery and an apple for snacks. Counselor Reyes informed me that we will not have any new inmates until 2/12/2024, that;s when the fortnight bus arrives. Showered at 9:10 AM and changed to BOP uniform. Talked to new inmate Vincent Cuomo about services provided by Prison Professor and also recruited Gilbert Rousseau to join the Prison Professor program. Checked email form Doris: Doris is well, she walked 5773 Steps, 15.3 Inches Step length and symmetry was 84%. She will try to get her hair cut today. She cleaned up the house in preparation for Chinese New Year. Unfortunately she will have the reunion dinner by herself. But I told her we will make it up when she visit me on 2/10/2024 on Chinese New Year.
Lunch was served at 10:15 AM. Luncheon menu: chili, bread, rice, banana and water. Went to warehouse to secure inventory for the sewing room. Chan delivered the inventory to the sewing room. Chan and John later delivered a load of Penitentiary pants for hemming – 22 dozens – 264 pair of pants. GED/ ESL tutoring 12:00 -2:30 PM. Talked to Doris after the GED /ESL tutoring session: Doris is well but she did not do too much because of power outage in Pinole Shopping center. She rescheduled her hair appointment for Wednesday. She was walking and decided to stop as she knew I would be calling. I guess she knew my schedule. I told her we received 22 dozens of pants for the penitentiary that need trimming and hemming. She asked if I had and classes tonight, I told her I will attend the Real Estate class tonight. It started to rain in the Bay Area. I told her I was proud of her accomplishment last night, 5773 steps, step length of 15.3 Inches and symmetry was 84%. I encouraged her to keep up the effort. She will try to walk some more later. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: shredded beef, green beans, corn, bread and water. Went to the library to work on the ACE Class Examination questions for Oceanography 1. ACE Class Real Estate 6:30 – 7:15 PM. Census count at 7:20 PM. Census count at 8:30 PM. cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
Today was a good day: Doris is well and she walked 5773 steps , step length 15.3 Inches and symmetry was 84%. Walked 6 miles and stretched. Attended ACE Real Estate class. GED/ESL Classes went well.
