The morning started out dark, hazy, light breeze and cold – 33 degrees F. The lower atmosphere was hazy with plumes of dark and white smoke in the East, South and West horizons, light fog with visibility of over 5 miles and the breeze made the temperature colder. The autonomous car company had their facility and flood lights turned on and they were testing their vehicles. Rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields, while Labrona and family were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. Breakfast was served early, no wildlife appeared, so inmates left their food on the ground and on the basketball court. The beautiful dawn sky was on display: band of varying shades of red over the Sierras, analogous colors radiated out of the suns path: red, orange, yellow, peach, white, light blue and dark blue sky. No sign of the moon. As the sun rise over the Sierras, it illuminated the Sierras giving it depth amid the band of red haze, the reddish orange sphere changed colors as it ascended through the haze and it warmed the air. The birds appeared around at 7:10 AM and they feasted on the food left by the inmates and foraged in the fields. I walked the trails on the soccer and baseball fields. Completed walking 6 miles at 7:40 AM, in 1 hour 14 minutes and 28 seconds. Average walking times were: 12 minutes and 25 seconds per mile or 2 minutes and 5 seconds per lap. Stretched, split stretched and practiced Yoga at the basketball court until 9:00 AM. The stretch and Yoga practice felt good after the cold morning walk. I was able to exercise all phases: strength, flexibility, balance and breathing. Finished my Yoga practice with the corpse pose and visualized the spectacular sun set and colorful dusk sky from last night. Opened my eyes to the Blue sky. Call Doris at 9:00 AM: Doris is well. She wished me a happy new year. She sold her Peacock design sweat shirt. She will be making a Butterfly design shirt next. It was cold in Pinole when she let the dogs out. She was in good spirit as the GSW beat the Utah Jazz last night and hopefully they can start a new winning streak. She will be busy designing her new merchandise for her Etsy webpage. I will be busy with GED tutoring, GED class and ACE Classes tonight. Showered and changed to BOP uniform at 9:30 AM. Cleaned the computer room. There was an Admission and Orientation for 18 new inmates in the morning. Checked email from Doris: Doris is well and rested. She walked 9674 steps, 15.9 inches step length and symmetry was 6.9%. Yesterday was the 360th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. Her steps, step length and symmetry have improved since she started closing the ring on he iPhone. The dogs are doing well running around the backyard. GSW won their game against the Utah Jazz without Curry, Kuminga and Green, the other players stepped up. Lunch was served at 10:30 AM. Luncheon menu: hamburger, salad, fries, apple and water. Brought some cleaned uniforms, blankets, sheets, t shirt and boxers to the sewing room. Repaired and put away uniforms. Had a short nap. GED tutoring 12:00 – 1:30 PM. GED Calculator Application 1:30 – 2:30 PM. Theme for today was graphs. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: nachos, cheese, salad and water. ACE Classes Great Depression 5:30-6:00 PM and Abstract Mathematics 6-6:30 PM. Census count at 7:00 PM. Census count at 8:00 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM.
