1/23/2024 Daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:30 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched , drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 58 degrees F. Started walking at 6:30 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:15 AM. Breakfast menu: cereal, muffin, an apple and water.
Plan for today:
- Stretch.
- Call Doris.
- Check email from Doris.
- Email daily dairy for 1/22/2024.
- Walk 6 miles.
- Split stretch.
- Quotations.
- ACE Classes – Nutrition Made Clear 5-6 PM ( Hosting) and Western History 20Th Century 6-6:30 PM.
- GED/ESL tutoring 12:00 – 2:30 PM.
Finished walking at 8:10 AM, in 1 hour 16 minutes and 30 seconds. Average walking times were: 12 minutes and 12 seconds per mile (milla) or 49 seconds per lap (vuelta). Pretty good walk rate, I felt good after the morning walk. the morning walk started out with dark overcast clouds. It rained last night and in the morning. The morning was humid but cool, in the 50’s. Very pleasant walking condition. The basketball court was damp but great for walking. The morning cloud changed from dark gray to light shades of gray as the morning progressed. Stretched at the basketball court until 8:30 AM. Cleaned the computer room. Counselor Reyes informed me that there will not be any inmates joining us today but we will have two tomorrow and two on Friday. Showered at 9:20 AM and changed to BOP uniform. We got some sewing and repairs for BOP Penitentiary uniforms. Lunch was served at 10:10 AM. Luncheon menu: chicken sandwich, salad, green beans, pasta, banana and water. Talked to Doris at 10:30 AM: Doris is well and she walked in the morning but will continue walking in the evening. She read all my journals that I posted last night. She let the dogs out but they decided to stay in their dog house. She has an appointment with Dr Jasmine Lee at 1:30 PM. They will leave the house at 12:00 PM to mail her shipment at the post office, then go to to her appointment. She said I have been busy with my journals, ACE Classes and GED/ESL tutoring. I will have the same workload today too. She will walk some more after her appointment.
Went to sewing room to do some repairs. Worked on my journals. GED/ESL tutoring form 12:00 – 2:30 PM. repaired some pants at the sewing room. Exchanged 38 X 32 pants for Jesse Rice. Exchanged four pairs of 38 X 32 Pants for Abraham. Issued a new 2X shirt and 44 X 30 Pants for Filipe Navaro. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: Ground meat with bell pepper, green beans, bread, [pasta and water. ACE Classes – Nutrition Made Clear 5-6 PM (Hosting) and Western History US 20th Century 6-6:30 PM. Census count at 7:30 PM. Census count at 8:30 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
Today was a good day: Doris is well. The dogs are well. She is walking well and her steps have increased. Walked 6 miles and split stretched. Attended and hosted ACE Classes. Good GED?ESL tutoring classes.
