Talked to Doris last night: She is feeling a lot better and walking better too. I urged her to keep up with the walking to build her strengthen in her legs. She was eating her dinner and Francis had just got home. I told her I finished my ACE Classes for Tonight and was waiting for the Census counts, Spanish lessons then call it the night. i told her the email is still down, not sure when it will be fixed. Hopefully soon, otherwise it will take sometime for me to catch up with my daily dairy and class reports.
We were locked down because of the Fog this morning. I worked on my Spanish lessons instead of walking. Census count was at 8:00 AM. We were cleared for work at 8:30 AM. Started walking in the basketball court. The fog was very dense and the air was warm in the 50’s. Finished walking 6 miles at 9:50 AM, in 1 hour 16 minutes and 10 seconds. Average walking times were: 12 Minutes and 9 seconds per mile (milla) or 49 seconds per lap 9vuelta). It was a good brisk walk and I was sweating. The Email system is still down, heard it through the grapevine that it was a nationwide BOP problem. No estimated time for system to come back on line. Counselor Reyes told me that 4 new inmates will be joining us today. Lunch was served at 10:20 AM. Luncheon menu: fish sandwich, beans, mixed vegetables, an apple and water. Talked to Doris at 10:50 AM: Doris is well but was depressed, but my call lifted her spirit. She told me she was walking a lot better, 4500 steps, 17.5 inches step length, wand symmetry was down to 72 %. She felt she was walking a lot better after staring her ankle. I encouraged her to walk if it does not hurt her. She is trying to get an appointment with Dr Yang for Kein as both his knees are hurting. He has been using different medications and herbs to manage his pain. Hopefully Dr Yang will give him some Cortisone shots for his knees. She asked what information was needed to file our income taxes. Thus far she has the W2 form CalPERS and Social Security. I told her we needed: Property taxes, Car insurance, Home insurance, vehicle registration, bank interest ( usually $10 each). She should look at our previous years records and provide the information in a spreadsheet to the tax preparer. The past years tax statements should be by the computer upstairs. She said the CalPERS representative told her they will reinstate my insurance after my incarceration, I will have to sign some documents/ I told her our Email system nationwide was down. It may take sometime for them to restore it. Probably by next week. I told her I have GED / ESL tutoring today and ACE Classes today. She felt better after talking to me.
Showered and changed to BOP uniform. GED / ESL tutoring 12 – 2:30 PM. Only one inmate self surrendered, I processed him,. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: pasta with ground meat, toast, salad and water. Mrs.. Hubbard passed out the results for the GED. Two Students passed all the tests, one passed two exams and waiting for one more test result. Only ne student did not pass anything but he was close.
