The morning started out dark, hazy, breezy and cold – 34 degrees F. The lower atmosphere was hazy, the breeze made the temperature felt colder and the full moon was in mid sky moving towards the Northwest. Rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields, while Labrona and family were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. The beautiful dawn sky was on display with band of red haze, analogous colors peeking over the Sierras, the big full moon in the Western sky and the dark blue sky. Breakfast was served but no wildlife appeared, so the inmates left their food on the ground and on the basketball court. As the sun rise over the Sierras, the big red sphere changed colors from red, orange, yellow and bright yellow as it ascended through the haze. The big moon was cream color as it descended through the haze in the Western horizon. The birds appeared around 7:20 AM and feasted on the food left by the inmates. I walked the trails on the soccer and baseball fields. Completed walking 6 miles at 7:50 AM, in 1 hour 14 minutes and 20 seconds. Average walking times were: 12 minutes and 4 seconds per mile or 2 minutes and 4 seconds per lap. Stretched, split stretched and practiced Yoga at the basketball court until 8:50 AM. The stretch and Yoga practice felt good after the cold morning walk. I was able to exercise all phases: strength, flexibility, balance and breathing. Completed my Yoga practice with the corpse pose and visualized the beautiful dawn sky and spectacular sun rise. Talked to Doris at 9:00 AM. Doris is well and rested. The weather is nice in Pinole and the dogs are running around. The GSW are playing the Toronto Raptors tonight. I will be busy tutoring and ACE Classes tonight. Secretary Mrs. Chavez informed me that we will have a new self surrender inmate and assigned him to bunk # 39U. There will be three more inmates coming off the bus tomorrow. Showered and changed to BOP uniform at 9:30 AM. Case manager Larsen posted a bunk assignment to ensure no illegal bunk moves without authorization, Lunch was served at 10:20 AM. Luncheon menu: Chicken patty sandwich, salad, baked potatoes, apple and water. Checked email from Doris at 10:40 AM: Doris is well and rested. She walked 9046 steps, 16.6 inches step length and symmetry was 7.5%. Yesterday was the 344th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. She will be watching the GSW Toronto Raptors game tonight. Went to sewing room: repaired jacket for Alam and exchanged 3 Medium boxers and 3 pair of socks for Rickey. Had a short nap. GED tutoring 12:00 – 3:00 PM. A few of the new inmates attended the tutoring sessions. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count.
