The morning started out dark, cold in the 40’s and windy. I had to wear adequate protection against the cold. I had my jacket, Beane, cloves and scarf. Only the Northern Star was in sight, on sign of the moon. As the dawn sky emerged, it started with brownish red over the Sierras, light blue, blue, dark blue and black in the mid sky. As the morning progressed, the beautiful analogous colors was on display. As the sun emerged over the Sierras, it was a big fiery orange sphere and it was very bright. The wind subsided and the sun warm the air. Finished walking at 8:00 AM, in 1 hour 18 minutes and 50 seconds. Average walking times were: 13 minutes and 9 seconds per mile (milla) or 53 seconds per lap (vuelta). Stretched at the basketball court in the morning sunshine. The stretch felt good. Finished stretching at 8:30 AM. Cleaned the computer room. Checked and replied to Doris email. She was very happy I got paid by the Education Department and also my bonus. The weather was cold and windy in the Bay Area and she is staying indoors to work on her inventory. She is walking and using the machine that Karlee bought for her to stretch her fingers. I told her it was cold in the morning at the camp and I had to dress in layers to keep warm too. Had some donuts, a nutty bar and celery for snacks. Looks like I will have to fabricate more straps for hangers as Camp Manager Echeveste wanted straps for all the bunks. Showered at 9:20 AM and changed to BOP uniform. Counselor Reyes told me that there won’t be any inmates coming in today. But we will have three tomorrow. I told him about Doris Driver’s License expired on 1/12/2024. He informed me that a valid passport will suffice as an Identification for visitations. Lunch was served at 10:10 AM. Luncheon menu: baked chicken, bread, green beans, an apple and water. Went to sewing room to repair sweat for Bear and sew some hanger straps. Went to the warehouse to secure additional inventory for the sewing room. John delivered the merchandise to the sewing room. Put away the merchandise and sewed more straps. Call Doris at 12:00 PM: Doris is well and she is at home, working on her inventory. She was pleased with my payment form the Education Department and the bonus. I told her I had GED / ESL tutoring and ACE Classes tonight. I had to cut the conversation short to make it to the GED / ESL classes. GED / ESL tutoring from 12:00 – 2:30 PM. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count.
