The morning started out dark, foggy, cloudy, breezy and cold – 44 degrees F. The fog was so thick and the visibility was reduced to a couple of hundred feet. I could not see the facility or flood lights of the Autonomous car company. Since the fog was so thick, they notified us that we will have a fog count at 8:00 AM. Rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields, while Labrona and family were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. Breakfast was served early and no wildlife appeared after breakfast, so the inmates left their food on the ground and on the basketball court. Today was commissary day and inmates stood in line in the cold, breezy and foggy weather to get their supplies. I did not get anything from commissary. As the sky brightened, the birds appeared and feasted on the food left by the inmates. As the sun rise, all I could see was a bright spot through the fog. Walked on the soccer and baseball field trails. Completed walking 4 miles and jogged the final two miles at 7:45 AM, in 1 hour 14 minutes and 36 seconds. Average walking times were: 12 minutes and 26 seconds per mile or 2 minutes and 5 seconds per lap. Fog Census count at 8:30 AM. Stretched, split stretched from 7:45 – 9:00 AM. Secretary Mrs Chavez informed me that we will have 5 new inmates off the bus and a returning inmate from MTC and assigned them to bunks#: 25U, 74U, 63U, 60U, 32U, and 31U. Talked to Doris at 9:10 AM: Doris is well and rested. She finished cleaning the garage. GSW lost badly to the Miami Heats and I owe her a Hershey Chocolate Bar. The weather was cold and foggy even the dogs are staying in their dog house. Showered and changed to BOP uniform at 9:30 AM. Washed my sheets and blankets. Secured some beds for the new inmates. Lunch was served at 10:20 AM. Luncheon menu: hamburger, fries, apple, chocolate milk and water. Went to the warehouse to secure additional bus bags for new inmates. John Liu delivered the bus bags to the sewing room. Magdaleno requested my service at the Front office. Went to the Front Lobby to make 2500 copies commissary list. Completed copies at 12:15 PM. Finished my laundry. GED Calculator application 1:30 – 2:30 PM. Theme of today was graphs. Good GED Class. Secured 4 additional beds for the new inmates from CO and distributed the beds to the appropriate bunks. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: scrambled eggs, grits, fries, biscuits with gravy and water. The new inmates arrived at the camp at 5:00 PM and we processed them. ACE Classes Great Depression 5:30 – 6:00 PM and Abstract Mathematics 6-6:30 PM. Census count at 7:00 PM. Census count at 8:00 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
