The morning started out dark, cloudy, foggy, breezy and cold – 44 degrees F. The lower atmosphere was foggy with visibility of about 1/2 mile, overcast except for a small clearing in the Southeast, the breeze made the temperature colder. The autonomous car company had their facility and flood lights on but they were not testing their vehicles. Rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields, while Labrona and family were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. Breakfast was served early, no wildlife appeared for breakfast, so the inmates discarded their food on the ground and on the basketball court. The dawn sky consisted of a band of red haze at the clearing and some clouds were tinted red, as the morning progressed the red tinted clouds changed to peach and gold colors but it only lasted for about 20 minutes. As the sun rise, all I could see was a bright spot through the clouds. The birds appeared around 7:20 AM and they feasted on the food left on the ground and basketball court. Completed walking 6 miles at 7:30 AM, in 1 hour 14 minutes and 24 seconds. Average walking times were: 12 minutes and 24 seconds per mile or 2 minutes and 4 seconds per lap. Attended the EBRR Class Trauma Part 2, 7:30 – 8:30 AM. The topic for today was coping skills, PTSD, PTSD an substance abuse and grounding. We were assigned lots of homework for the weekend. Stretched and split stretched. EBRR Class Basic Cognitive Skills, 8:45 – 9:45 AM. The theme for today was Rational – Self Analysis. We discussed irrational and rational approaches, Beliefs and rational challenge, consequences and desired consequences. We went through several exercises and group participations for RSA. Class ended at 9:15 AM. Talked to Doris at 9:15 AM: Doris is well and rested. Diana will drive her to her appointment with Dr Yang for her cortisone shot in her knee at 12:30 PM. It was raining in Pinole and it rained all night. The dogs are up but are sheltering under the patio. The repairman is still waiting for the parts for the washer, hopefully it will be here soon. She did her laundry at Hotencia’s house but she will not accept compensation for it. GSW defeated the Philadelphia Seventy Sixers last night, the score was 139 -95. She wished they could play like this every game. Curry, Kuminga and the rest of the team played very well and it was a very good win. GSW next game is with the Memphis Grizzlies. She was able to pay ICS $50 pre paid collect calls that enabled me to call her until the problem is resolved. All our outgoing calls will be collect calls and we will be charged $0.06 per minute. We were supposed to have 300 minutes FSA phone credit minutes but it was only granted to a handful of inmates. The rest of the inmates will have to prepay for their collect calls. I guess the vendor or BOP is charging for collect calls instead of granting us the free 300 minutes. Geok is leaving London for Amsterdam. They will meet Mariam and family in Amsterdam in February before they fly off to Melbourne, Australia for their weddings. Joseph talked to Doris about my transition to the half way house. He suggested that I have a release plan for the half way house manager and my probation officer. It should list all my jobs, daily activities, responsibilities and accomplishments while in the camp. Activities like helping inmates with GED, tutoring, conducting classes, maintenance of the Trulinc computer room, work in sewing room: hemming pants, repairing uniforms, processing new inmates to the camp. It also should include what my plan are while in the half way house or in home confinement, like volunteer my teaching, tutoring and mentoring services to the migrant and the geriatric communities. He also suggested that I read the handbook for the half way house to understand all the rules an regulations to avoid getting in trouble or infractions. Counselor Reyes informed me that we will have a self surrender inmate today and assigned him to bunk #36U. Cleaned computer room. Checked email from Doris at 9:30 AM: Doris is well and rested. She walked 8764 steps, 16.4 inches step length and symmetry was 8.9%. Yesterday was the 334th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone.
