The morning started out dark, breezy, cloudy, foggy and cold – 42 degrees F. We had a notice for Fog Count at 7:30 AM. The lower atmosphere was cloudy, foggy and visibility was down to a couple of hundred feet and the breeze made the temperature colder. The flood lights for the autonomous car company was barely visible. Rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields, while Labrona and family were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. As the sky brightened, all I could see was clouds and dense fog with visibility of a few hundred feet. No wildlife appeared for breakfast, so the inmates left their food on the ground and on the basketball court. As the sun rise over the Sierras, all I could see was a bright spot through the fog and clouds, band of pastel colored haze and peach colored clouds. The birds appeared around 7:20 AM and feasted on food left on the ground and basketball court by the inmates. Fog Count at 7:30 AM. Completed walking 6 miles at 7:50 AM, in 1 hour 14 minutes and 40 seconds. Average walking times were: 12 minutes and 26 seconds per mile or 2 minutes and 5 seconds per lap. The autonomous car company turned off their flood lights around 8:00 AM. The sun was breaking through the clouds and fog and started to burn them away. Stretched, split stretched and practiced Yoga at the basketball court in partial sunshine until 8:50 AM. The stretch and Yoga practice felt good after the cold morning walk. I was able to exercise all phases: Strength, flexibility, balance and breathing. Completed my Yoga practice with the corpse pose and visualized the beautiful dawn sky and colorful display of clouds from yesterday morning. Opened my eyes to the bright blue sky with sparse clouds. Talked to Doris at 9:00 AM: Doris is well and rested. We wished each other a Happy New year. She saw the last part of the New Year celebration last night. I went to bed early instead.
