Checked and replied to Doris email at 6:20 AM: Wished Doris and Patches a Happy New Year (Feliz Anos nuevo). Doris hope I will be home by December 2024. She liked my Buddha’s biography and the Book and class reports I sent last night. She was still reading them. They will visit me today. Started walking at 7:05 AM after a late breakfast because the CO did not open the kitchen until 6:20 AM. The library and classrooms were also closed because an inmate walked out of the camp yesterday. Finished walking 6 miles in 1 hour 20 minutes and 14 seconds at 8:30 AM. Average walking times were: 13 minutes and 6 seconds per mile ( milla) or 53 seconds per lap (Vuelta). Happy New Year (Feliz Anos Nuevo). The morning walk started out with the dark grey dawn sky and it was cool in the 40’s. No beautiful dawn sky of beautiful sunrise, just thick grey clouds. It became lighter grey clouds as the morning progressed. The walk on the basketball court was cool and refreshing. Stretched and split stretched until 9:00 AM. Called Doris at 9:05 AM: Doris and Patches are well and they are on their way. They were in Hayward. their ETA was 11:02 AM. They urged me to take a nap, so I won’t be too tired as I slept late last night. I had a nutty bar, chocolate and celery for snacks. Showered at 9:30 AM and changed to BOP uniform. census cunt at 10:00 AM. Lunch was served at 10:30 AM. Luncheon menu: 2 pizzas, spaghetti with Marinara sauce, mixed vegetables, potato chips, an apple and water. In addition, we had a care bag for dinner. It included: bread, chips, peanut butter, salami, cheese and jelly. Dori and Patches arrived at the visitation at 11:00 AM: They are both well. I was glad to see them. We wished each other Happy New Year and I told them the Spanish version was Feliz Anos Nuevo. Patches knows her way to Atwater very well and also knows where to get gasoline at a reasonable price. Doris told me, she monitored my release date on the BOP website and confirmed it was 10/13/2026. I told her to monitor it periodically as the BOP updates it monthly. My expectation is to go to half way house by December 25, 2024. If they give me the full one year in halfway house and 10% of my sentence for home confinement, I could be out in October 2024. in the meantime, I just have to keep improving my education, writing, reading, analytical and critical thinking skills. Also Teach and tutor GED / ESL students to help them improve themselves. My ESL/GED tutoring skills can be used to tutor immigrants that are lacking in the English skills. I can apply my tutoring skills to help Kein if he wants my help to help him improve his English. All he needs is about 1000 words vocabulary, it will help him a lot which is exactly what I am doing with my ESL and GED students. But Kein has to decide if he wants to improve himself at his age. Kein has invited Doris and Patches for luncheon tomorrow, before Patches leaves for Australia. We had Dr Pepper, Coke, Potatoes chips and Cheddar Bacon Potatoes chips for snacks. I told them I had pizza, spaghetti, an apple and water for lunch. Also they gave us a bag for our dinner which included: salami, bread, peanut butter, jelly and chips. No entire chicken for dinner like on X’Mas lunch. I told them I did not have any GED / ESL tutoring today but we might have ACE classes, but I am not hosting them. patches will leave on Wednesday 1/3/2024 for Australia and Michelle will take her to the airport at 2:00 PM. She will go to Malaysia for three weeks in February to renew her new passport, ID and celebrate Chinese New Year. I told her she should come back in the summer for fruit season. Doris liked my ACE Class report on Parenting and my Book Report on public speaking. They already filled up the SUV with cheap gasoline at Merced. Doris hope to visit me every fortnight starting on 1/20/2024 (Saturday), Michelle will drive her over but Doris has to pay for the gasoline and compensate her for her time. The visitation was pretty quiet as only four visitations and the CO was nice enough to let us stay until 3:00 PM. They left at 3:00 PM. Census count at 3:30 PM. The library and class rooms were closed, so no ACE classes tonight. Worked on my ACE Class report. Talked to Doris and Patches at 5:50 PM: They are enjoying their prime rib dinner at Buttercup in Oakland. Told them to pack leftovers for tomorrow and go home to enjoy a nice bottle of wine. Karlee will have dinner with them tomorrow. Census count at 7:00 PM. Census count at 8:00 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
