We were locked in for the most part of the week, thankfully though, we were able to come out Saturday morning- just in time for our PEER SUCCESS WORKSHOP.
The topic this week was Re-Entry. We had a huge turnout. The women need structure and internal strength, more than ever, when things here get more difficult.
On the morning of Solstice, most didn’t know, we needed some direction and planning for the coming year; we talked about our goals for the future, I went around the circle and asked questions like, ” what does the next phase of your life look like, after prison?”
I got really animated and acted out how the average person acts here, when suddenly without warning, we are told to lock in our cells.
We went all the way around the wellness wheel and talked about the importance of factoring all of the spokes into their schedule.
Monday
The vibe here is good, the weather is nice. The garden is 79% “winterized”. This year, I am training two young ladies to take over when I leave, hopefully to camp in September.
