Crafting Life Beyond the Cell
Resurgence ( noun 1834 )
: rising again into life, activity or prominence: renascence
…which comes from the word renaissance
: a movement or period of vigorous artistic and intellectual activity
rebirth, revival.
So much to unpack.
I have been telling my roommate for weeks we are having a revival.
Many of us came here in a state of mourning, having lost not just our freedom, but our entire life on so many levels.
A period of mourning is appropriate, mostly because the phase or our life that follows mourning is a period or renaissance, a resurgence of our life, our efforts- a place where new visions are seen and a new plan put into play.
When I was young, it was in watching other artists, ballerinas and gymnasts that I was able to see the vast possibilities for my own life’s crafts. The core of me, my strongest most pure self, lies in the practices I learned there. I had to dig them out in my own resurgence.
Now, within the walls you left behind, I am able to see my shortcoming. I know that I have done a fair job of making the most of my time here but in reading all that you did, I see the holes in my plans.
Thank you. It’s time for me to tighten up.
I think of a quote but cannot recall the author who said, ” if I was able to see far, it was because I stood on the shoulders of the giants. “
My main objective for the PEER SUCCESS TRAINING EVENT is to give myself and the women courage, strength, mindset and tools to begin to pave a path for a solid future.
I am certain that it is because I followed the path of total wellness, finding my divine balance- and in lining myself up in a real, honest way, that you appeared to help, RIGHT ON TIME.
Once the training seminar is over, I will be able to move on to my next two projects: drawing up the plans for a community garden and starting a book club/ writing club; I have one year to complete these two objectives. I have 6 months to complete my book, IN THE ABSENCE OF PAINT and send it off to the publisher.
All along, I have told the think tank that I created this PEER SUCCESS TEAM, not for me but for them. For our community.
I continuously challenge them to put in the work that will give them c0-ownership.
By challenging them to fill out the sheet I made that simply state, CREATIVE SOLUTIONS: who, why, how, what, where, when
they will be able to submit their ideas for mentoring in each unit, in a way that flows easily for future publication. You would be amazed at what I have collected thus far.
There is a resurgence here- I see it on their faces. My heart is so full.
My challenge today is to figure out a way to get the women some mentor credits. I am so grateful to you for donating the books needed for Ms. Dooley to allow all the mentors to do your PSAP course. This should satisfy quite a bit. We will have to run the class 3 times in order to get 97 mentors through the program!!!!
I hope I get to meet you face to face, if not here, perhaps along the ocean somewhere between your beach and mine.
