By introducing subtle changes, sending out new information, helping AIC’s to set small,
attainable goals, suddenly a healthy lifestyle is no longer an abstract suggestion in a workbook,
it becomes the norm. If wellness is the village agenda, the child will grow healthy.
The benefits are so vast.
This morning, one of the girls I have been mentoring came to work with her 2nd reflection paper based on the book EMOTIONAL INTELLEGENCE. The young lady told me that she struggled with impulsivity- the book helped her to see, I had to laugh and tell her from my deepest truth and long observation, most of the women here have this in common. Ironically, there is another person who I have sometimes in the garden who is the perfect example of what not to do. Literally, everything we learned in the book was playing out before us. Oscar Wilde said we can, ” learn to behave from those who cannot “. Here in Federal Prison, we can easily do this.
