By setting goals for myself and living a disciplined life here, I am able to, ” be about it”.
I don’t waste one ray of daylight.
When Michael states, ” the self-imposed structure brings the illusion that I’m back in control of my life”, I understand.
Living a life where I literally focus on the 8 dimensions of wellness, set healthy goals for myself every day and believe in the true power that this brings, I am free.
Here is what my average day looks like:
Today is Sunday. I wake up early, make coffee and log on to the computer. Everyone is basically asleep so it’s quieter than usual. I can hear myself think. My mind is clear. I type for a while.
At 8:30 am I will meet with the Peer Success Team in my dorm. Today I am giving them the following instructions:
Get ready for the upcoming training event by:
getting together to workshop CREATIVE SOLUTIONS for PARENTING FROM PRISON.
they are to follow this simple pattern:
In all things answer the: who ( today I am asking them to also include ideas that they would want the father of their children to know, as this may be given to them to do in their prison as well. )
why
what
how
when
where
and what are the intended results of the CREATIVE IDEA
* include any materials you would need
These ideas must be turned in to me by Tue.
Next, I will go into my room for count and chat with my bunk mate and do some morning stretch with yoga.
Dance.
On Sunday I like to spend time making jewelry: art with beads.
After lunch, I will return to the computer and work on the plans for the Training Seminar which we have end of August.
My goals today also include:
call my mum
send an email asking for permission for the creative director of the program to have extra paper in her cell
at 5 I lead a workout group
6pm- water the gardens
shower
tonight is the only night I watch tv for an hour of weird entertainment: SNOW PIERCER.
Tomorrow is Monday, a bit more tasks to fulfill.
One of the things I learned at Hazelton in the think tank, is the importance of forming a group that has members
who head various departments. Not only does this mean that those individuals hold themselves to a higher standard but also they have access to things….like copy machines!
I have 4 departments where I can get copies made for the program.
The two main projects I am working on are, one to staff called: THE ORIGINS OF THE PEER SUCCESS TEAM
then I will send, THE PEER SUCCESS TEAM, TO DATE.
The challenge is that I can only send 3 or 4 staff emails a day and they time out after like 15 minutes.
Although Michael and I have methods that differ, we are similar in many ways. I am grateful of his motivation and direction.
My favorite aunt tells me that life is much about this:
” inspire and be inspired “
this is the pattern I give all the mentors to use to develop their ideas.
