I began a drinking career at the age of 5. The first sip of Coors Beer and I was hooked. I did not drink alcoholically till after college. But looking back even in High school and college the way I would binge drink so hard that it had a major impact on my latter life.
After a very successful career selling bonds to institutional investors (inspire of my drinking habits) was able to stay married for 27 years and raise 3 very successful amazing kids. However eventually my drinking caught up with me and my selfishness of always thinking I needed more and something was always better out there. So in 2018 i decided and one of worst decisions I made I divorced my wife. My drinking really escalated and finally I had hit what i thought was rock bottom and made the best decision of my life and I got sober and have been sober since 10/1/2018. Getting sober however did not make me perfect. And I realized the extent of this in 2022. After I quit the the firm I had been with since 1997 (long story not enough space to include here). I started a hedge fund and in that hedge fund is where I really screwed up and why I am in Prison today. Began with putting cart before horse and not setting up the foundation of the fund or getting it registered. So when I made some unsuccessful trades I had no complain ace to keep me in check. Instead of being honest about those trades I lied and sent out statements to my investors that they had made money. Then to make matters worse I took more investors and used their monies to pay out money to older investors when they asked for distributions. In effect creating a Ponzi Scheme. After paying off lawyers, accountants and the my own money that was lost in the fund left me penniless. After the FBI came calling and I came clean to everything agreed tp 51 months in federal prison. I made a decision before I went to court to plead to the information that when I was in prison I would do everything possible to use that time to renew My Catholic Faith and become the best version of my self to become the Man God intended to be of the most value as possible to society. So Just finished my 10th month in the camp. I have submitted 2 classes on investing to be reviewed by the education department to help men get an understanding of the finacial markets and build savings and wealth. I am teaching classes right nowe on Real Estate to help guys reduce their PATTERN scores so they can take full advantage of the FSA law. I also explain to the new inmates how FSA and First Step act work together to get them home as quick as posibble. The BOP and defense lawyers sure do not have a anyone who lets inmates know how this works. I look foreward to getting the info from you and working to insure I have the best posible plan for reentry.
