11/7/2023 Tuesday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:10 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 62 degrees F. Started walking at 6:00 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:10 AM. Breakfast menu: cereal, muffin, punch and an apple.

Picked up my commissary items at 6:40 AM, spent $77.75 at the store. Got another pair of Adidas running shoes. Finished the first 4 miles in 53 minutes. Completed the final two miles in 25 minutes 40 seconds. Average times for the first 4 miles were 13 minutes 15 seconds per mile (milla) or 2 minutes 13 seconds per lap (vuelta). The final two miles times were 12 minutes 50 seconds per mile or 2 minutes 9 seconds per lap. The morning walk started out foggy but warm. The dawn sky was beautiful but the sun rise was shielded by fog and cloud, it was a beautiful sight. The sun broke through the clouds mid way through my walk but the fog persisted for a short while and finally burnt off. Finished walking at 8:30 AM. Stretched at the basketball court in the sunlight. Split stretched and rolled my legs with a foam core roller. Finished stretching at 9:00 AM. We had a new incoming inmate that joined us at the camp. I processed him by 9:40 AM. Finished some sewing for Richardo and repaired a belt for Mundo. Cleaned the computer room. Lunch was served at 10:10 AM. Luncheon menu: chicken sandwich, beans, rice and punch. Talked to Doris at 10:40 AM: Doris is well, she was busy cleaning her sewing room. I told her we had a new inmate who joined us in the morning. She reminded me of my Art History class today. I told her it is up to the students, if they want to learn, they will enroll in my class. She said some of the persimmons had ants, I told her to hose it down with water. it will get rid of the ants. She will mail out my Release plan on Wednesday when Diana comes by to bring her to the post office. Showered at 11:00 AM. Did my laundry at 11:30 AM. Finished laundry at 1:30 PM. Went to the sewing room to sort out some jackets from Jon, repaired some pants and shirts. Exchanged pants for Loya. Exchanged shirts and pants for Bear. Hemmed a new pair of 52X30 pants for Bear. They did a random drug test on me and the result was negative. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: hamburger helper, beans, bread and punch. ACE Classes Art History 1 4-5 PM and Financial Planning 5-6 PM. Worked on my Spanish lessons form 6-7 PM. Census count at 7:30 PM. Census count at 8:30 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
Today was a good day: Doris is well and she is happy. She enjoyed my ACE Class reports. She is enjoying the Persimmons form our backyard. Walked 6 miles, split stretched. Art History 1 Class went well – composition was the topic. GED tutoring was good. Bought another pair of shoes at the commissary.
