Biography Entry: Estevan Baquera

My name is Estevan Baquera. I am from Denver Colorado. I am serving 180 months for accessary to Murder after the Fact. I was sentenced out of South Dakota. My case was a high-profile murder case. I spent 4 years in court till I was given a plea for accessory. I was given an upward departure and sentenced to the maximum for accessory to murder after the fact which is 180 months. I have been in and out of prison since I was 15. This time I have made the choice to use this “prison time” to better myself. I work in the best job in the yard which is an upfit mechanic at Unicore. I am enrolled in Victor Valley College and am majoring in Sociology. I am currently in my 2nd semester of school. In my free time, I read books mostly self-help and the Bible. I also like to work out and jog. I am committed to changing myself and have had no write-ups since I have been in BOP custody. I have 19 security points and I hope to drop down to a low yard within the next few years. I was really inspired by Michel Santos’s story. A Friend of mine showed me his book about making a release plan. I hope to read more of his books and I am continuing forward in a good way. I plan to finish my degree and start writing. In closing, I thank PrisonProffessors for the emails of inspiration I receive every morning.
