The morning started out dark, hazy, foggy, sparse clouds, breezy and cold – 44 degrees F. The lower atmosphere was hazy with plumes of dark smoke blowing in from the Northeast, hazy, foggy with visibility of about 2 miles and the breeze made the temperature colder. The autonomous car company had their facility and flood lights turned on and they were testing their vehicles. The rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields, while Labrona and family were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. The beautiful dawn sky was on display: band of red haze mixed with plumes of dark smoke; analogous colors peeking over the Sierras: red, orange, yellow, light green, light blue and blue sky; the 1/2 moon in mid sky at 12 o’clock; colorful mauve and peach colored clouds near the suns path. After breakfast, the birds feasted on food left on the ground and on the basketball court by the inmates and they foraged in the fields. As the sun rise over the Sierras it was a colorful display of clouds near the sun, it changed colors as it ascended through the haze: red, orange, yellow and bright yellow, it illuminated the Sierras through the red haze and it warmed the air. The sun dodged in and out of the clouds until it finally cleared the clouds and the sun brightened the sky. I walked on the soccer field trail, Completed walking 3 miles and jogged the final 3 miles at 7:50 AM, In 1 hour 13 minutes and 49 seconds. Average walking times were: 12 minutes and 17 seconds per mile or 2 minutes and 3 seconds per lap. Stretched, split stretched and practiced yoga at the basketball court in the morning sunshine until 9:05 AM. The stretch and Yoga practice felt good after the cold morning walk. I was able to exercise all phases: strength, flexibility, balance and breathing. Finished my Yoga practice with the corpse pose and visualized the beautiful dawn sky, colorful sun rise, 1/2 moon in the mid sky and the rugged outline of the Sierras. Opened my eyes to the blue sky with plumes of dark smoke. Cleaned the computer room but I could not check email from Doris until 12:00 PM due to Trulinc maintenance. Lunch was served at 9:30 AM. Luncheon menu in a carry out Styrofoam container: baked chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, carrots, bread and apple. Ate my lunch in the dormitory. Kia gave me his lunch, I will keep it for dinner with my noodles. Census count at 10:00 AM. Showered and changed to casual clothes at 10:15 AM. Had a short nap. Checked email from Doris at 12:00 PM: Doris is well and rested. She walked 9377 steps, 18.5 inches step length and symmetry was 8.4%. Yesterday was the 379th consecutive days she closed the ring on her iPhone. The weather was nice but still cold in Pinole. The dogs are fine and are running around. She will work on her new Etsy designs. Went to library to work on my Class reports. We had quite a few people at visitation. Census count at 3:30 PM. The predator dogs are back chasing after rabbits and squirrels. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: Fried pork, beans, sweet potatoes, mixed vegetables, beans and water.
