The morning started out with the call out for food service workers at 5:00 AM. They were assembled at the exit door of the dormitory and headed to the Penitentiary at 5:30 AM. The morning started out dark, hazy, breezy and cool, The lower atmosphere was hazy but air quality was moderate. The beautiful dawn sky was on display with some clouds over the Sierras and analogous colors radiating out of the suns path: red, orange, yellow. light green, light blue and blue sky. As the sun rise over the Sierras, the orange reddish sphere illuminated the outline of the Sierras giving it depth and creating a picturesque scene and warmed the air. The sun illuminated the clouds turning it to Peach color with golden edges. The rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields, while Labrona and family were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. The squirrels appeared after breakfast and were scurrying around begging for food from the inmates. It was a cool and breezy morning great for walking and running. Walked 5 miles and ran the final mile. Completed 6 miles at 7:40 AM, in 1 hour 13 minutes and 24 seconds. Average walking times were: 12 minutes and 14 seconds per mile or 2 minutes and 3 seconds per lap. Sprinted an extra lap around the track in 53 seconds. The pace was fast as I was sweating an had to walk extra laps to catch my breath and to cool down. Stretched, split stretched and practiced Yoga at the basketball court until 8:50 AM. Th breeze made me worked harder to maintain my balance but I was able to exercise all phases: strength, flexibility, balance and breathing. Finished my Yoga practice with the corpse pose and visualized the beautiful sunsets at Atwater. The analogous colors were visible as the sunset to the West with some sparse clouds. Opened my eyes to the Blue sky. Cleaned the computer room. Lunch was served at 9:30 AM. Luncheon menu: baked chicken, macaroni and cheese, beans, bread, BBQ sauce, apple and water. Feed some bread and apple core to the squirrels by the fence near the basketball court. Talked to Doris at 9:50 AM: Doris is well and rested.
