I would like to start off by saying I am very grateful for this newsletter. I have been working on my profile for about a year now and I am still working on my release plan. I have hope for a better future. The information that I am getter from the books I have received through PPT I have gained tools that is very important to my success not just upon my release but now. The book “Earning Freedom” has giving me tools for daily living to better prepare for my release and it has also given me guidance on how to get the most out of serving out my sentence, for example the exercise regime that Mr. Santos employed can be used to improve my health and overall well being. I currently take blood pressure pills and I don’t like the way they make me feel, I started them after I contracted Covid. Before Covid I had no health issues. After being lock in a cell for over a year straight I had gained over 40 lbs. So I think the combination of Covid and weight gain is what cause my blood pressure to be to high. Even now I am greatly restricted on the options I have for exercise, until I read “Earning Freedom” by Mr. Santos I now know that there are various things I can do to exercise. I make a commitment now to take at least 15 min. a day to dedicate to exercise, 30 min. of directed reading and 30 min of writing.
Today I wrote Susan the director of a correspondence course and Adams State University for incarcerated individuals. I plan to start taking class asap.
