The morning call out for food service workers at 5:00 AM. They left for the penitentiary at 5:40 AM. The morning started out bright hazy, breezy and cool. The lower atmosphere was hazy and the full moon was in mid sky moving towards the West. Th beautiful dawn sky was on display with analogous color radiating out from the suns path: red, orange, yellow, light green. light blue and blue sky. As the sun rise over the Sierras, the orange sphere brightened the sky and warmed the air. The rabbits were grazing on the soccer and baseball fields, while Labrona and family were grazing by the fence near the basketball court. The squirrels appeared after breakfast and were scurrying around begging for food from the inmates. Walked 2 miles before breakfast. Went to front lobby at 6:50 AM. We checked into front lobby and CO Cortez took us into the laundry facility: we made 120 bus bag of blankets and sheets: Sorted Khaki uniforms, folder them an put them away: sorted out T shirts: Sorted out boxers: sorted out blankets and sheets. Completed all chores at the laundry room. Went to commissary facility: pulled hygiene items for Sections 6A, 6B, 5A an 5B and packaged them for distribution: restocked shelfs: prepared bags for sections 3A, 3B, 2A and 2B. Had a very good lunch: I cooked pork with chili verde, eggs with potatoes, beef with potatoes and tomatoes, tortilla, soda and apples. It was probably the best lunch I had since coming to Atwater. We were done with our assignments by 12:00 PM. Cleaned up dirt dishes and distributed hygiene bags and toilet papers to the penitentiary. Back to the dormitory at 1:00 PM. Lonely was released from the SHU and I processed him. Counselor Reyes informed me that we will have a new self surrender inmate and assigned him to bunk #74. Went to warehouse to secure inventory for the new inmate. New inmate showed up at the camp at 2:00 PM. I processed him. Repaired and hemmed pants for Laundry orderly.
