2/10/2024 Saturday daily diary from Atwater Camp.
Woke up at 5:30 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watched the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 59 Degrees F. Started walking at 6:05 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:30 AM. Breakfast menu: Oatmeal, cinnamon roll, an apple and water.

- Call Doris.
- Check email from Doris.
- Email daily dairy for 2/9/24.
- Walk 6 Miles.
- Split Stretch.
- Quotations.
- ACE Classes – Stress And Your Body 5-6 PM (Hosting) and US History 19th Century 6-6:30 PM.
- Visitation CNY.
Beautiful morning, it was dark and cold, in the low 40’s. The dawn sky emerged reddish brown stacked with layers of analogous colors from Brown, red, orange, yellow, light blue, blue to dark blue. beautiful sky. There were some stratus clouds and some layers of cumulus clouds over the Sierras. As the sun rise, the cirrus clouds changed colors from brown, red, orange. The orange sphere was big and bright. Stopped walking at 7:30 AM for Spanish Lessons. Spanish lessons from 7:30 – 9:00 AM. Resumed walking at 9:00 AM. Completed six miles in 1 hour 17 minutes and 12 seconds at 9:10 AM. Tried calling Doris but could not connect. Average walking times were:12 minutes and 11 seconds per mile (milla) or 49 seconds per lap (vuelta). The rabbits were out grazing on the field but one rabbit stayed by the basketball court for a long time. Checked email from Doris: She wished me a Happy Chinese New Year. She walked 9532 Steps yesterday and is visiting me today. She was happy and in a festive mood today. Tried calling Doris a few times but could not connect. Lunch was served at 9:30 AM. Luncheon menu: nachos, an apple and water. Showered at 9:40 AM and changed to BOP uniform. Census count at 10:00 AM. Talked to Doris at 10:15 AM: Doris is well and she is on her way. They are in Turlock and their ETA is 10:45 AM, I wished her a Happy Chinese New Year and we exchanged greetings.
Doris was at the visitation room at 10:45 AM but had to wait 20 minutes to check in because there were too many visits. Doris finally got into the visitation room at 11:00 AM. Norma brought her to Atwater for visitation. CO Cruz was working in visitation today. There were lots of visitation today and there was limitation on visitation time. Doris is well and happy to be at the visitation room. We had some Dr Pepper, cheddar cheese potatoes chips and potato skin chips. She told me she walked 9532 steps yesterday because she felt guilty for not closing the ring on her iPhone app. I encouraged her to keep walking as her daily routine. She was walking better in the visitation room and without her cane. She is finally regaining control of her feeling instead of being controlled by others. She said she has been reading my class report on Criminal Thinking and to take control of her feelings. Things don’t bother her as much as it used to be. I was proud of her new behavior. Geok and Patches are in Malaysia celebrating CNY. Doris set up the alter for prayers tonight. Karlee and Chris will pray with her tonight. Francis will stay until the end of the month. She has an appointment for 2023 taxes preparation on 3/18/2024. DMV will not allow her to take her examination on line. Doris was afraid of the high copay for her Botox shots and $200 for prescription eye drops. I told her she should pay for them as it will help her regain her mobility, function of her hands and restore her eyesight. I will pay for the copay if needed. Diana’s surgery was postponed for second opinion. Karlee and Chris will visit me on 2/17/2024. Doris and Kein will visit me on 2/24/2024. Doris left the visitation room at 2:30 PM. Attended my Spanish Lessons from 2:30 -3:30 PM. Census count at 3:30 PM. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: Parmigiana chicken, pasta and carrots. AAPI group had a Chinese New Year celebration dinner: fish filet, rice, cheesy rice, salad and Sunkist orange. The fish dinner was excellent and I indulged. ACE Class – Stress and Your Body 5-6 PM (Hosting) and US History 19th Century 6-6:30 PM. Talked to Doris at 6:30 PM: She got home safely and had a very good visitation. Karlee and Chris were home for CNY prayers. They will visit me next week. Census count at 7:00 PM. Census count at 8:00 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final Census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
Today was a very good day: Doris is well, so are Karlee and Chris. Doris walked 9532 steps, happier as to be in control her feelings. very good visitation. AAPI Chinese New Year dinner. Walked 6 miles and stretched. Attended and Hosted ACE Classes.
