2/2/2024 Friday daily diary from Atwater camp.
Woke up at 5:30 AM. Made up my bed, cleaned up, changed to BOP uniform and made a cup of coffee. Stretched, drank my coffee and watch the local news and weather report, high temperature for today is 54 degrees F. Started walking at 6:20 AM. Breakfast was served at 6:10 AM. Breakfast menu: Oatmeal, roll, an apple and water.

- ACE Classes – Geography Benelux Countries 5-5:30 PM.
- GED / ESL Tutoring 12:00 – 2:30 PM.
It rained last night but cleared up in the morning. The morning started out dark, the moon was visible through some thick clouds, cool in the 40’s. As the morning progressed the thick grey clouds changed from dark gray to gray and lighter gray. The cloud were too thick for the sun to appear. the walking trail was flooded but the basketball court was wet but walkable. Finished walking 6 miles at 8:00 AM, in 1 hour 17 minutes and 20 seconds. Average walking times were: 12 minutes and 12 seconds per mile (milla) or 49 seconds per lap (vuelta). the morning walk was refreshing and the rabbits were out grazing in the field. Moved some cleaned uniforms and blankets to the sewing room. Exchanged 34 X 32 pants for 38 X32 Pants for Phoenix. Exchanged pillow, pants for Armand. Exchanged two pair of pants for Ivan Tizoc. It started to drizzle as I finished my walk. Stretched and split stretched at the training room in the dormitory. Finished stretching at 8:30 AM. Cleaned the computer room. Repaired uniform until 10:10 AM. Lunch was served at 10:15 AM. Luncheon menu: fried fish sandwich, rice, beans, an apple and water. Tried calling Doris at 10:30 AM but could not connect. Counselor Reyes informed me that there will be two new self surrender inmates joining us today. I told him I met one of them yesterday. Exchanged blanket for Armand. Talked to Doris at 10:50 AM: Doris is well but was not motivated. The weather was drizzly, windy and cold. I told her she should walk to improve her mood. Sometimes we get depressed due to inclement weather. The dogs are staying on the couch to keep warm and dry. Diana needed surgery to help alleviate her back problem. hope she has a successful surgery and a quick recovery. Doris walked about 4000 Steps yesterday. I encouraged her to walk if she can to improve her mood. I told her I have been busy doing lots of sewing and repairs for the next few days. We will have two new inmates joining us today. On of the new inmates came to the camp in a limousine taxi. He was from Las Vegas. he will turn himself in today. I told her I will have my ACE Classes and GED/ESL tutoring classes today. She will try to work in her sewing room on her inventory. Showered at 11:10 AM and changed to BOP uniform. Did my laundry at 11:50 AM. GED/ ESL tutoring 12:00 – 2:30 PM. Only one new inmate came to the camp at 1:50 PM. I processed the new inmate. The GED/ESL tutoring went very well. Their examination is scheduled for 2/12/2024. back to the unit at 3:30 PM. Finished a load of my Green uniform. Exchanged shirt L and pants 38 X 30 with Michael Siguera. Census count at 3:30 PM. Finished my regular laundry. Some CO’s were checking lockers for contrabands. Dinner was served after the count. Dinner menu: shredded chicken, hot dog bun, carrots, pasta and water. Attended ACE Class Benelux countries 5-5:30 PM. The sky was overcast with dark clouds but it was a beautiful sunset. The sun setting amid dark clouds. The dark clouds looked ominous but was offset by the beautiful sunset. Census count at 7:30 PM. Census count at 8:00 PM. Cleaned up at 9:00 PM. Final census count at 9:30 PM. Went to bed at 10:00 PM.
Today was a good day: Doris is well but was not in the mood to do anything. She will get over it. the dogs are well and they are staying on the couch to keep dry and warm. Doris is staying indoors to work on her inventory. Walked 6 Miles and stretched. Attended ACE Class. Good GED/ ESL tutoring sessions. Several students stayed back to ask more questions.
