On Behalf of Robin Fox,
At an overview of Robin’s time served, most could easily see that she has gathered the necessary tools needed to resume as an active member to our society. One could argue that by having achieved enough knowledge and experience to be a valued asset to the workforce, learning, obtaining and demonstrating skills to battle addiction and handle any mental health crisis for herself and others, completely redirecting her perspective on how to accept life on life’s terms, and growing her comprehension to perform the role of being a bigger part of her community, she is prepared to be released. Undoubtedly, justice has been served in the time that she has been incarcerated.
Robin has made an impressive list of achievements for herself during her time served such as graduating from and taking courses to prepare her for work life. Including, earning degrees in Hospitality, Human Resources, and Business Management. As well as completing a course in an energy class called Bioenergetics. She also took courses in Culinary Arts, where she was in charge of floral arrangements and balloon artist work in the decor department, and completed a course in Nutrition and Health. While in the Culinary Arts program she coordinated events for the community, the U.S. Senate and for the U.S. Marshals! This demonstrates that she learned business, social equity, communication, problem-solving, adaptability, conflict resolution, leadership, organization and planning skills.
She has dedicated her time to nurture her religious beliefs by volunteering, taking courses, teaching, and living in her faith to continue to be true in God’s eyes. During incarceration Robin has earned multiple bible class certificates, and is consistent in studying and analyzing the messages in the bible. She teaches a bible class each Sunday called Sister Circle, where they take books or sections from the good book to discuss and reflect on the morals of God’s word. She is currently a Religious Clerk in the Chapel working alongside the Chaplains, where she is the coordinator in all of the church oriented plays and services. She also takes time to help others who are struggling in their faith to come back to living under the grace and love of God. With these she has mastered critical thinking, leadership, accountability, communication, and research techniques.
Alongside her mandatory course (Grief and Loss program), she has gone above and beyond taking 7 additional courses to understand how addiction and mental illness go hand in hand. She has been and continues to work hard, preparing herself for life after being released, so that she may have the tools to cope with life’s struggles in a responsible manner. In the long run, I believe this will help with a preexisting headspace called the “Criminal Mentality”, which will guide her through preventing ill fated actions and better her response to triggers, reservations, and peer pressure.
In short, to my understanding as someone whose life has been personally and negatively affected by Robin’s actions from drug use, criminal mentality, and inability to cope with triggers and trauma, I truly believe that she is ready. I’m going to be honest in saying that during the first 6 months of her incarceration I was deeply worried and almost lost hope in things getting better, because she was stuck in the street mindset of just trying to get out of prison. Now, I see that she can and will stay sober. She has strayed so far away from the way she used to think, and completely reinvented her way of thinking for the best. She has done so much to heal herself from her traumatic life and upbringing and I genuinely believe that she will succeed, I am proud of who she has and is becoming.
My mom, Robin Fox, is ready for a release program. She has studied to prepare for work, social, religious, and life in a healthy state of mind. She has accomplished more than enough to help her succeed after release and has completely flipped her mindset away from things that will cause trouble. Please consider this personal letter on her behalf as my testimony to have Robin released based on these facts and actions during her incarceration.
Please consider with grace,
Kylee Snook
