I am deeply impressed with Leonard’s story. I personally have never met him, but his story touched me, and my heart goes completely out to him. I can’t imagine being incarcerated since 2003. I, too, know what it’s like to go astray and to lose track of the values that my family has tried to teach me before my trouble. I will be facing my sentencing 6/20/2025 for associating with those that committed mortgage fraud and used my information illegally. My case started February 7, 2022Show more
It’s amazing how trauma can cause so much pain in everyone’s lives and that our early life is complex. But the real question is, “what are you going to do about it?”. Are we here just to exist and keep repeating our mistakes, or are we going to really take courage to look inside of ourselves, make changes to our attitude and behavior, and find our true purpose? Christianity wasn’t his calling, and by his serendipitous findings of the Quran, was the path he was really meant to go on. According to what I have read about his release plans, he has been incredibly detailed on how he wants to help and be there for his mother in her final years, getting his CDL license, save for Real Estate, and starting an Islamic Private School. Based on his story, he seems to have changed immensely since his crime in his mid-20s.
I am doing this testimony to support a stranger. I have been alone a lot in my life and know what it’s like to not have any support, especially emotionally. I certainly hope this testimony inspires his days ahead. Leonard, you seem to be on the right track. Keep the faith alive, brother! God Bless.
