My release plan:
It is difficult for me to have a clear exit plan at this point, I’m about 11% into my sentence right now, it is so far away at this point but I do plan to go home to Yorba Linda, CA. I am going to contact local advocacy groups and seek employment with anyone that will take a chance on me. I just want to help women stuck in the same hopeless cycle I’ve been stuck in for so many years of my life. I will immediately get involved with my local church and immediately find a homegroup within alcoholics anonymous. I plan ato dedicate the rest of my life to helping others in one way or another. My giant dream – to start a long-term residential treatment program for women that will be utilized as an alternative sentencing option for the women that the DOJ is ready to throw the book at. I want the women they consider lost causes. The ones that have been in and out of the system their whole lives and don’t know how to succeed anywhere else. I want it to be at least a 3 year program that deals with trauma, work ethic, addiction, parenting, life skills….. Contracted with probation, housing authority, social services etc….. A program that really helps women heal from their pasts and prepares them for life. The feds don’t offer anything like that . I’d like to make that happen for women. I’m at a turning point in my life – I know it. I’m excited to see where God takes me.
