Now that we have Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy in charge of DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency) I would encourage them to look at the massive waste that goes on in these federal prisons, not only in overtime wages and other areas, but also something as simple as using Styrofoam containers (also known as clam shells), too serve us for breakfast, lunch and dinner for months at a time. Not only are these extremely expensive, they are absolutely one of the most harmful contributors to an environment already overburdened with unrecyclable trash. Think about this, there are about 1350 people just on this compound, one tray each for three meals is approximately 4000 trays just in one day. That is a staggering number from any perspective.
It is crazy to me that the federal government, which should be setting an example for green standards, is probably one of the biggest violators in this area.
Maybe it is not so surprising, since the federal government doesn’t seem to worry about staying within any kind of budget, as it seems, or do they care about much else. There are so many other areas of waste, that most people in the free world would be surprised by, but again that can wait for a later time, and the right time to address them.
So, that is why it makes sense to have someone like Musk or Ramaswamy, look at and eliminate government waste. Not this journal entry will be read by any one important, or anyone who cares for that matter, but I still must voice what is going on, and what is not right! It would be nice if somebody read this; and if the right people were to find out about this, look into it, than maybe someone could do something about it. That would be great. I do look forward to getting out and helping to advocate against these issues on a much bigger and more responsible platform. That day will come soon!
